I had the best stay at this hotel recently! The staff and service is unmatched, I have never felt so welcomed and comfortable at a hotel before. They went above and beyond to accommodate us in any way that they could. The food is incredible as well! I loved the coffee service in the morning. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. They provided everything you could need on a trip and more! I will definitely be recommending this hotel and rebooking a visit for myself soon.

Updated, clean, comfortable, close to everything, good bar, good coffee. Rooftop drinks are a good time but great to get oysters too. Bryce is a top tier bartender- great cocktails and the right amount of engagement.

The rooftop bar is one of my favorite places in Durham! Not only is the setting lovely and the views terrific, the cocktails are actually really good!!

Best coffee in town. Such a surprise, went in on a spur of the moment on my way to the post office. What a wonderful place in the lobby to have a rest and sip on the best coffee in town. Seats are very comfortable and patrons low key and pleasant. A good place to do some work on your computer.

The hotel has a lot of charm. Apparently it’s an old bank which means the building is old, so keep that in mind. I stayed one night. My room was clean. The carpet actually looked new or freshly shampooed. Although the room did need a little paint and the window had mold/mildew. The body wash and lotion in the room were nice and I rarely use what hotels have in the room but I was a lazy packer. For someone reason everyone we encountered that worked there were not friendly except the gentleman that checked us in. He was great! I spoke to a man at the front desk, he looked angry and he didn’t speak back. We asked one of the host, for a table at the restaurant and her response to “do you have a table for two” was basically just “no”. It was an awkward exchange because she didn’t say when one would be available. As guest at the hotel it was weird that we couldn’t get a table at the restaurant and she wasn’t worried about it whatsoever. The bed was comfortable and they included a shower cap! I travel with one, but it’s nice when hotels have them. They valet which is great. I would stay again, hopefully their employees are better next time. Except my guy with the ponytail. He understands customer service!

Unique combination of colors used throughout the hotel, some may like it, some may not. I considered it looking pretty good! Very helpful and kind personnel. Super clean rooms, nice materials used around. I would stay again!

Stayed here recently and really love this hotel. I was originally drawn to the history and mid-century modern aesthetic and that didn't disappoint at all. But add to that great, very friendly staff, the perfect location, and the very large and lively rooftop bar and this just has a perfect combo of things for a trip to Durham (which we really enjoyed as well). There was a great breakfast in the lobby to order and we spent evenings (after dinner - also close by) hanging out on the side patio people watching as well as the top floor patio/bar. There is a lot to do in the immediate area. The rooms are comfortable and really well decorated. If you love mid century design you really need to stay here. Much more fun and unique stay than a typical hotel. There's a parking garage very close by if you don't want to valet. We didn't even need to use the car for our three day trip there was so much to do and see within walking distance.

The location is right in Downtown Durham but on a more quiet street right off main street with the action. The rooms were clean and nice and quiet even with a band on the rooftop. The modern 70s inspired decor is super cute. They give you drink vouchers and the bartenders are super friendly and make a mean coffee if you need it. Only con: closest parking is valet but it's worth the convenience.
