Hotel in downtown Durham in an old bank building giving it a unique look and feel from outside. Rooms are nicely done and comfortable. Features a restaurant one first floor and rooftop bar. Downstairs restaurant in counter order with sample seating in spacious area for much of day but is a little more upscale at dinner and excellent chef. Rooftop bar is very nice and has its own serving menu as well. Hotel emphasizes supporting local so you see lots of instances of that around the hotel and sitting food choices.

Honestly one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. I stay at a lot of Hyatt's and Marriott's through and for work which are supposed to be "premium" l, but "premium" usually translates to paying a premium for in-house foods, water bottles, amenities. The Durham staff was so kind, seemed like they enjoyed working there, and appeared genuinely jazzed about the fact that the hotel supports so many great, local businesses. Any time I'm staying in Durham, this hotel will always be my #1 choice.

Celebrated our wedding on the rooftop at The Durham Hotel. John and his team were great every step of the way leading up to the event, even helping us secure some rooms in advance. The menu at the rooftop was exquisite, everybody was very happy with the venue and the food. The location in downtown Durham is perfect, and their Cafe and pastries in the lobby are delicious. The rooms were very comfortable and we had a great night's sleep. We enjoyed having our event there and think everybody who wants a great event would as well.

Hands down the best hotel in Durham. From amazing cocktails + rooftop view, to a fantastic specialty coffee bar to modern rooms and wildly friendly staff, we absolutely love The Durham!

Great mid mod hotel, originally a bank. Plenty to do in walking distance. Excellent in house restaurant.

Perfect place to stay for a one night visit from Richmond. The pillows are like clouds. The Roof for dinner was excellent and the views and weather were perfect. Pro tip: add a few $30 credits at the end of your booking which gives you $40 of value.

A little Wes Anderson, a lot amazing. Wonderful service, great accommodations and beautiful views. I'd highly recommend.Best part? They deliver freshly ground local coffee in the morning. Really! Easy access to the Conference Center and anywhere else you need to go.

Great rooftop bar/restaurant, and liked the communal lobby areas and the breakfast, but the room was very ikea feeling, kind of lipstick on a pig updates. Comfortable bed though. We are early risers, but others who weren't had big complaints about the construction starting at 8am sharp directly outside their windows (scaffolding up the whole building)

Location is perfection. The view from the rooftop is amazing. Sit by the pool, order a cocktail, and relax. Rooms are small but updated and very comfortable.

Even though it was cloudy and drizzling, this was still a pretty cool stop along a downtown Durham exploration. For full disclosure, we didn't stay at the hotel, just had drinks at the rooftop bar. Their house created cocktails were awesome and the view is great.

The Durham does almost everything perfectly. They take mid century modern and combine it with local fare and the result is near perfection. The beds are soft, the robes are a delight; the in room snacks are all made in NC. Even the in room coffee service is specially ground for your specific coffee preferences. My only complaint, and I hate to even say it: everything, and I mean everything, in the room was sourced from NC and then they give me Fiji water...at least give me water from North America! Water shipped across the ocean really makes me feel some kind of way. Other than that: perfection.

Clean and reasonably priced in the heart of Durham. Staff could not be more helpful. Rooms were spacious and functional. Showers were large and inviting. Rooftop bar was just the thing on a cool night. Only complaint is a slow elevator! Two thumbs up for the Durham hotel!

I delivered a cake here for an event. I told them I wanted to set it up but they wouldn't let me as the party started about 2 hours later. They assured me it would be set up. They promised the out of town mother that they would set it up with a cake stand. I was sent pictures of it after the event. They presented it to the birthday girl IN.THE.BOX. the mother wasn't very happy and I certainly wasn't. In the future I will only be setting up my own cakes at this venue. I've attached how it should have been set up and how they gave it to her.

The rooftop bar is something special to behold. It was recommended to me by my coworkers as the best view in Durham. You feel like you are in a larger city like Chicago or New York looking out over downtown. It was such a special place, I proposed to my fiancee on the rooftop, after watching the sunset.

My husband and I just got married here and we had a fantastic stay! My husband and I stayed in one of their suites and it was clean, comfortable, and very unique. The staff are always both professional as well as personable so that you feel like an actual guest and not just a room number.

Went to the Durham Hotel Restaurant with my wife and we had great experience! Our server was polite, responsive and knew the the entire menu. Food was phenomenal! Every dish we had was well crafted, balanced and tasted great. The Durham Hotel isn’t just a great place to stay, it’s also a great place to eat. Will definitely be coming back for another go at the Dry Aged Ribeye. Highly recommend!

First trip to roof-top bar.The bar food was really good: nachos & meatball sliders. I will return anytime I want a light dinner & strong drinks before a show at the Carolina Theatre.

Very enjoyable meal in an elegant, spacious and fairly quiet space. Split a Caesar salad, tasty and sharp with anchovy paste. A main course of roasted duck breast over a sweet potato puree was very nicely done, the duck tender and juicy, well accompanied by a glass of a pleasant Gamay blend from Oregon. Dessert was a moist molasses cake with ginger ice cream, and a double espresso. Altogether a pleasant, unhurried meal, excellent food and good company.

Attended the first series of Pop-up bakery events hosted at The Durham. Union Bread from Raleigh was there selling fresh croissants, cookies and sourdough bread. I bought a little of each. The croissant I had (ham /gruyere) was amazing hitting all the right notes flakey, salty and tangy, buttery. The bread was surprisingly still warm when I got home. Nothing to do but slap on some butter and groan in delight at the sourdough goodness.Get out and enjoy the upcoming pop up bakery events.

Stayed here for a wedding recently. They accommodated a large number of our family/friends easily. rooftop bar was nice even in the cold weather. The rooms were varied but they were all stylish and clean. Valet parking was quick, and there was a free weekend lot across the street. Breakfast was a little scant for my tastes, but good. Could have easily eaten more. Large lobby/cafe/lounge area on the ground floor was an easy place to grab a table and hang out. The business center had computers and a printer that all worked with no fuss. There were also a couple conference rooms available as needed.
