A uniquely Durham gathering place with casual vibes, serving good food and drinks until late – one of the few Durham restaurants with a kitchen open until 2 a.m. – Queeny's hosts many community-based and supported events, like Great British Bake-Off competitions. Inspired by the communal spirit of potlucks and the lively neighborhood bar and grills of our adolescence, Queeny’s is a nostalgic reimagining of the casual, sit-down establishments that feel right on any occasion. There's an on-site podcast studio available for public use (with scheduling). The small bookshop in the back of the bar named “Rubyfruit” after the 1973 lesbian coming-of-age novel Rubyfruit Jungle and stocked the shelves with inclusive literature. All the while, the chicken 'crispers' are arguably the best chicken tenders in town.

We came here on Christmas Eve and enjoyed ourselves loved the library. The food and drinks were great! They have a nice patio as well.

Wow what an amazing experience! The food is high quality filled with so much flavor 🤤 Once you enter you grab a menu and order at the bar. The service and environment is cozy, friendly and welcoming. The food didn't come out too quick, but I'm happy that it's not fast food and the prices are very affordable with great portions! Can't recommend Queeny's enough.

Cool little place with delicious food!! We ate a late lunch here. I ordered the Chicken Crispers which are battered tenders, and I really like that. I also ordered the charred green beans which are served with Asian inspired flavors and broccoli rabe. I enjoyed it; my husband didn’t because the broccoli rabe gave it a somewhat bitter taste (which is what I like about broccoli rabe). My husband had the cheeseburger which was really good. We initially thought the meat to bread ratio was off, but that turned out not to be true. The bread was soft enough to squish down not interfere with the burger taste/texture and the rest of the flavors. The bartenders were extremely friendly and welcoming. We sat at the bar (everything has to be ordered at the bar) and had lovely conversations with both bartenders. We ended up eating a late night (after a show) meal at another restaurant. I wish we’d have come back to Queeny’s. They’re open until 2 am. We’ll definitely come back to Queeny’s the next time we visit Durham. This really is a little gem of a restaurant!!
