1st I would like to say I made reservations for my anniversary and when I got there they did not have them, because I was at the wrong Nanas. Despite that they still were able to seat my wife and I within 10 minutes of arriving. I don't remeber all of our drinks but I do know they were all enjoyed. The brussel sprouts were crisp with perfect mix of sweet and salty, like balsmic vinegar with teriyaki. The ribs were insane to say the least: falling off the bone and so crisp on the outside. I still think about the mac and cheese, probably top 5 in my life. Wife ordered stuffed chicken and she really enjoyed it. I order the wagyu steak medium well but they were able to save it, I meant medium rare. I just wanted crispy outside pink in the middle, when I say they did not miss I mean that from the bottom of my heart. We ordered dessert for ourselves and the kids togo. they all enjoyed it. Even though I botched the reservations they still gave us an annivesary moment. They congratulated us and brought out shareable sorbet, I don't eat sorbet but that made me change my mind. Good experience, servers were very polite, held my camera and took our pictures to capture those memories. Highly reccomend, I will definitely be back. -
Very nice experience for our anniversary. Brendan was phenomenal and Jared was an excellent companion as well during our service. From the host, backwait, server, and manager it was phenomenal. They obliged my request for Champagne to start. Server was very knowledgeable about wine and menu. We had Calamari & Beef Tartare to start. We also had the Wagyu Picana & Salmon for dinner. All great recommendations and choices. Dessert was the cheesecake which we both loved. -
I have been to Nanas Steak several times. It is one of the best places to get a steak. The drinks are typically good aswell. I've been here for private dining, big parties, small parties. The last time I came however, the steaks weren't hot. The sides were but not the steaks. Never experienced that before but I'm going to come back again to make sure it wasn't just an off night but the rest of my party was disappointed by that. I enjoyed the ceviche and cabbage also. -
We went here before a comedy show at DPAC a couple of weeks ago. The food and drinks were amazing. Service was on point. We will definitely be back if we can get in before a show. We tried the scallop ceviche, it was a large portion. The bread service which was nice. I had the off menu American wagyu picanna and my wife had the prime rib. All of the dishes were good. Highly recommend for a dinner out in Durham. -
Surprisingly disappointing. We went for dinner before a show. Point being, we couldn't take leftovers home. We each had a salad. I ordered a wedge salad. What they call a wedge salad is not a wedge salad. It was a plate of greens. A wedge salad by definition is a wedge of iceberg lettuce. This was not that. I don't think there was any iceberg. It wasn't a bad salad, but it was not a wedge salad.
We shared an medium rare $80 Australian Waygu steak. It was not great. Mostly flavorless and a little stringy. We salted heavily. We shared a heaping plate of truffle Parmesan (or something) fries cooked in beef fat. Again, surprisingly bland. Queue salt, again. I don't usually ever add salt to my food. For a moment I wondered if we both had COVID.
We shared an apple cobbler for dessert. It was delicious. So at least the meal ended on a high note.
