"Brewed until surreal," Asheville's Dssolvr opened a taproom in Durham in 2023. Here, you'll find a range of beer styles, including lagers, English ales, IPAs, sours and more. The dog-friendly taproom hosts regular events and is decorated with psychedelic, alien-themed art. Located in Durham’s Warehouse District, there’s plenty to do nearby.

We decided to check out their Tuesday trivia, solely because they have a lot of gluten free beers on the menu. Even though they're a 40 minute drive for us, it was worth it.
They had quite a free GF Sours (which I have had a heck of a time finding). Although almost all of them were exceptionally sweet, there was one (Blah Blah Blast) that wasn't too sweet. They also have GF ciders, seltzers and wine, along with plenty of other beer options that aren't GF.
It's a cool spot and allows dogs, which is awesome! They have plenty of dog toys and water bowls for your furry friend, should you have one to bring.
It's also right across the street from the Durham Food Hall, so if you're hungry, you can either grab food and bring it with you or get it delivered.
Overall, it's a pretty cool spot. Just a bit of a haul for us to check out regularly. -
The bartenders here have always been really amazing, they offer great suggestions and really engage with the patrons. This is one of my favorite bars in NC, its got a great laid back vibe; the whole place felt very in touch with being a bar for everyone. I am neurodivergent and often times bars can be overly stimulating. They keep the music at a really great volume and have enough space so you don't have to be exposed to the louder folks. The place is also always super clean and well organized, making it s great place to hang out and play a few board games while relaxing. Highly recommend this location to any visitors or locals. -
Drinks and atmosphere were amazing! I especially liked the Hawaiian mimosa and crab Rangoon! We will definitely be returning. -
A really great place for high quality beer in downtown Durham. A very nice selection of beers no matter what style of barley pop you prefer. Loads of seating. Very bright, cheery space Highly recommend! -
My husband and I are imperial stout lovers. We're not fans of IPAs or Sours. For this reason, when we first reviewed the extensive tap board, we were not optimistic. We ordered a flight of sours and one imperial stout. The sours were really good. One was like cracker barrels blueberry pancakes in a beer. Another was spicy and reminded us of Blake's mango habanero cider....honestly it was better then Blake's. We really enjoyed our beers. Great indoor and outdoor space. They do not serve food but there are restaurants near by.
