I don't usually post reviews so this is more in reply to the person who posted below giving Central Park Tavern a one star even though they have never been there. Before giving such a poor review you should at least visit this establishment instead of drawing conclusions based on things you've heard and what the patrons looked like on one drive by. My experience at CPT was very enjoyable. The service was a little slow but I was there at their grand opening so it was really busy. Prices for drinks were all reasonable and slightly better than some other local bars. They have several tv's for sports and plenty of space for large groups.
Further, we met the owner several weeks ago and he seemed very nice and eager to get his bar running in the neighborhood. We never had any reason to believe (either talking with him or when we were there) that this was not an inclusive establishment. If you want to judge their patrons as not diverse enough you should really pay more attention to the other bars in the area. All of them are typically filled with a generally white patronage at most times. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that but don't act like there is this high pedestal that any new bar has to strive for when it's not much different than anywhere else. -
This happens to be one of the best tavern/bars I've had load's of fun at in a while. Wonderful decor and inviting. Drinks were mixed by attentive and very friendly staff who listen to customers talk with a interest in the conversation. A full line of liquor's from the cheap stuff to the best money can buy. The usual crowd is a mix of college student's, business folk's and people who just walk in off the street. Why i keep going are the people who work at Central Park. I can go spend my money anywhere however i feel most welcome and important to mb e is i feel comfortable having a enjoyable time with honest good and hospitable employees. I never saw a fight break out or sloppy boozehounds stumbling over themselves, they just don't attract fools or drunks with psychological problems. Made some good friends going to Central Park who are not drunkard s. This establishment deserves* *****1/2+ Durham's Absolute Best Bar Central Park !!!

Great Bar, as noted a little slow on service but pricing and staff are both friendly. Nice place to relax and sip your favorite flavors while taking in a ball game or just having a party with friends. We will be back soon.

Great place to hang out in the area especially for locals. There's parking and outside seating where you can also smoke. Great staff they're so sweet and welcoming. There's karaoke nights, definitely check them out.

I love this bar! The owner is ACTUALLY there when go which means everything is always clean and fresh and the drinks are amazing. Great location and outside setting has a nice view of the city lights
