LocoShop
Phone: (919) 286-3500
LocoPops has been a Durham favorite for years and, in that time, has expanded from a focus on handmade pops and ice cream, to a spacious brick and mortar with a gift shop, sundries and pastries. The latest move was opening an even more expansive shop in downtown Durham. LocoShop still sells the frozen treats that laid its foundation as a Durham icon, but also offers breakfast and lunch and stocks loads of items from local artisans and fellow restaurants, such Big Spoon Roasters, Guglhupf, Toast, Strong Arm Baking and many more. A perfect spot for shopping local.

This is a great place for popsicles, ice cream, cold drinks, snacks, and more! It's a café plus a convenience store with lots of local products.
The only downside is that the bike rack looks hard to use and is partly blocked by the entry steps. I appreciate that they have a bike rack anyway - but parking might take a minute. -
We had some great ice cream. I’ve had the pops elsewhere, they’re good too. Cool shop with a variety of gifts, as well as local food options, beer, and mixers. Would give 20 stars if we could! -
Visiting from out of town we needed a sweet afternoon treat and stopped in Locoshop.
So many delicious options to choose from - most of our crew got yummy milkshakes. By recommendation, I tried their seasonal Dolce de Leche ice cream scoops. When I say this is the best ice cream I’ve had in a really long time, this sweet treat will stay with me. Highly recommend!
The shop itself had loads of puzzles, board games, gifts, housewares, and grocery items for sale. Wonderful shop. -
Delicious mint chocolate chip ice cream that totally hit the spot - a generous scoop for $3! We also picked up some eggs and English muffins. They sell all sorts of things, including puzzles and gifts, many made in or related to the local area. Great place! -
“Love the flavors and it is a happy place!” As reviewed by my daughter and her friend.
