Sip Liberty & Plenty's Slate Belt Vodka, Bronze Bull Whiskey and Rye, Cap & Cane Rum and more with cocktails mixed feet from the source. The distillery occupies a space adjacent to The Rickhouse event space on Foster Street and offers a welcoming outdoor patio with comfortable seating and occasional live music. Owner Tina Williford earned her expertise at Scotland's renowned Heriot-Watt University and joins the estimated one percent of female-owned distilleries in the US. The distillery has plans to produce rum, whiskey, gin and flavored vodkas. There's a cocktail bar that shares the same space as the distillery with a menu featuring original creations based on seasonal ingredients while also paying homage to timeless classics and local suppliers.

Have walked past this place 100+ times and never came in until tonight, where we attended a private event for a friend’s birthday.
Exceptional and creative mocktails, locally distilled spirits, and deeply enthusiastic staff who accommodated every request we had. We couldn’t have had a better time with a group of 25 people anywhere else in Durham.
Can’t wait to go back for another outing with friends or a date night. -
Lovely bar—the most thoughtfully curated cocktail menu, and Will the bartender was incredible (warm, knowledgeable). The bitter blossom spritz was especially complex & delightful. Highly recommend! Patio & indoor seating.

Love the vibe! Their vodka was excellent. We left with a bottle of their grapefruit vodka. They offer complimentary snacks with a flight tasting which is another bonus. Great flavor combinations in their cocktails

This place is an absolute gem. The bar is not big, but packs a delicious punch. I highly recommend a drink with the overproof rum or their french oak bourbon straight up. If you can't make up your mind, don't worry. They give free samples of their liquor (in communion cups and I love them for that). I had some free local foccacia to snack on, so be sure ask. Their bourbon cream is also to die for. And I hope you get Stephanie behind the bar. She is fantastic and highly knowledgeable. No notes. This place is great.

My mom and I ended up in Durham for the weekend, and after a busy two days of exploring, I wanted to slow things down and check out a smaller local distillery. I tend to really enjoy the smaller, more laid-back places, and this was a great find!
I did a flight with a mix of vodka and rum, including the citrus vodka, grapefruit vodka, one of the aged rums, and the spiced rum. Everything was really good, but that grapefruit vodka was definitely my favorite. You could really smell and taste the grapefruit without it being overpowering — SO good!
The woman working was also amazing. She was running the place by herself and still took the time to explain everything, give me little samples of different mixers, and show me what paired well with each spirit in my flight. She was incredibly patient, friendly, and helpful — she deserves a raise just for the patience we watched her have with one particularly interesting customer. 😂
Unfortunately, we were traveling with small carry-ons, so we couldn't bring any bottles home. But my mom makes her own extracts and vanilla bean paste, and she loved the spiced rum so much that she already plans on ordering some to use an a vanilla bean paste recipe!
Definitely worth stopping in if you’re in Durham and enjoy checking out smaller local distilleries instead of only visiting the bigger places!
