Just one block from downtown, the all-suite Durham City hotel seamlessly blends design and functionality, offering the modern amenities you need to stay refreshed and focused. Spacious suites, a vibrant lobby, and over 3,000 sq. ft. of meeting space provide flexible options perfect for working, gathering, or relaxing. Spend your stay exploring all that our city has to offer, including the adjacent downtown area where the Durham Bulls play and where you’ll find DPAC and the American Tobacco Campus
We stayed here when we visited to tour UNC Chapel Hill and Duke. The location was convenient and the rooms were clean. The person who checked us in was pleasant, but she forgot to give us the Bonvoy member gift. I noticed she gave a bag to the person who checked in before us and after us so when I was checking out, I asked what was in the bag and they told me it was for being a Bonvoy member. I am Platinum Elite and said I didn’t receive one (not a big deal - I was more just curious) and she was super nice and apologized and gave us one. We also had to call down to the front desk at midnight bc our tv stopped working while we were watching a Netflix show and the guy who answered the phone was super helpful and polite. He wasn’t able to fix the problem, but he was very nice. The free breakfast was just meh, but it’s free, so… FYI - The parking is $15/day, which kinda sucked bc it’s not like the property is in a busy downtown area.

Hotel exceeded my expectations. Good area and feels very safe. Workers are helpful and one young man that works downstairs during breakfast (forgot his name) is a hardworking employee. Whole place is new and modern. Feels very clean. Good sized rooms and bathrooms. Also I think it is a great price for a place like this. Definitely recommend

Springhill Suites Durham City View by Marriott is a brand-new hotel, and it shows—everything is exceptionally clean and well-kept. The staff are all very friendly and professional. During breakfast, I overheard a staff member being trained and was impressed to hear that the owner is very particular about maintaining cleanliness—everything from the front entrance to making sure there are no breadcrumbs in the toaster. It’s clear that management takes pride in running a tight ship, which makes for a great guest experience.
The location is super convenient—easy access to Duke and other parts of the city. Parking is straightforward and safe. There is a $15 charge, but honestly, it’s worth it for the convenience and area.
Highly recommend if you’re staying in Durham.

Too expensive for the quality of the hotel. The pillows were the worst I have ever experienced. Location of the hotel was great but had to pay to park. Free breakfast was about what to expect, just average food. We moved to another hotel after a one night stay here and saved $150 per night.

I've been working out of Durham for the past two months. Upon checkin Nia is always there with a welcoming smile, great attitude and is always helpful. Marriott usually has pretty good front desk staff but I rarely get met by someone like Nia.
The hotel itself is always clean and comfortable but Nia is what sets it apart from everywhere else I've stayed in recent years.

The room space is large than expected. The 2 queen bedroom on the fourth floor has a great view. But it is a bit weird that the TV is either not facing the bed or facing the sofa. And the mirror is facing the bed(fengshui is not good lol). Anyway, everything is good. The front desk people are very nice. Breakfast has coffee, yogurt, waffles, eggs and milk. Self-parking is convenient.

The only thing good about this place is the location and the fact that it was clean. No one should be spending all this money for a stay to wake up to a breakfast that's literally just hard boiled eggs and pancakes you have to make for yourself. All this money to wake up and there's NO BACON!! All this money and you still gotta pay to park in the lot of the hotel that you're staying in. Make that make sense!! The phone doesn't work so I can't call the office. The ice machine doesn't work so I have to go to another floor. First and last time here.

Brenteni works the front desk. She is the best part of staying here at the hotel! She is patient and kind and goes out of her way to help and make her guests feel comfortable. I even left something in my hotel and she was exceptional at helping get it back to me with ease and efficiency! She needs a raise! Tell your manager I said so! Rooms were spacious. Convenient location for me. Great sunrise view!

When I'm paying $240 a night for a room why do I have to pay $15 a night to park?? Seriously, it's ridiculous. I loved the hotel and hoped to stay on my next 3 visits but my company doesn't allow us to book at hotels that charge parking (or we employees have to eat it) so guess where I'm not staying in my next 3 visits to Durham? The $15 parking is costing you $240 a night in lost income....

My review begins with Scion, the front desk worker. He was courteous, attentive, and precise. I felt heard, understood, and protected bc of him. Also this hotel is spotlessly clean. Every Detail was looked out for!

I stayed here for a week on business, in a long-term-stay king suite. My company was very kind to ensure my comfort, to say the least. It was also a short drive from my office and right off the highway; very convenient.
The room was a good size — spacious enough, and had a good furniture arrangement. Some additional drawers could have been useful, but I managed. The desk was a nice touch, with its own lights and electrical outlets. When I wasn’t using it as a desk, it doubled as my sitting area to eat.
It’s not really pictured here, but there is a sofa, for which the ottoman is for. A tray on top of the ottoman could have been used to eat on, or in my case, to be used to toss daily pocket items into. Please disregard the axolotl plush; it was a souvenir for my fiancée.
The bed was comfortable; it didn’t smell weird nor creak. I am a short person, so the bed was a good height to plop down in and roll out of.
The bathroom was immaculate. This is a major peeve of mine, and I was pleasantly greeted with a spotless throne to defecate upon. The shower was also clean and free of mildew, mold, or anything gross you wouldn’t want to step barefoot into.
There is a mini fridge, below the coffeemaker; there was no safe in my room, but I saw that I could have requested one (I chose not to).
Cleaning staff respected the door card indicating that I was either sleeping or didn’t want my room cleaned (the latter). I left it there all week and not a thing moved in my room indicating anyone entered while I was gone. Call me paranoid, but I am just not a fan of others being in my space. I can keep a room clean for a week.
My only real complaint? Parking. Plenty enough parking — but at a premium of $15 daily. What nonsense is that? It should come included with the room, especially a LTS. My company is an understanding bunch and did not object to reimbursing the parking charges, but as you can imagine, it was an expected amenity. Maybe it is just a foreign concept to me, but I have never had to pay for hotel parking as a guest in my entire life. Make your money, I guess.
All in all, this hotel was still one of the better ones I’ve stayed at; it is well-kept, in a great location, and the staff are polite. I would likely stay here again.

The beds are very low to the ground, too low. No real door for the bathroom, and all these little lights, glowing light switches, lights are everywhere in these rooms. You have to pay to park which is uncool. Service was great. Room was clean, pillows are not comfortable.

Rooms are good; only serve complimentary breakfast and don’t have a restaurant for serving lunch and dinner. You have to walk down to Downtown area 1-2 mile away to have food or you can order online via UberEats.
