Visiting Durham for the first time with my sister and her husband for comedy show. We wanted somewhere to eat before the show and I spotted Lenny’s 555. Parking was easy. The entrance to Lenny’s to the rooftop was entertaining with all the pictures of music artists! Once on the rooftop, it was beautiful!! The hostess was super friendly! We sat inside and had the pleasure of having Gio as our server!! He just elevated our experience with his friendliness and knowledge of menu, suggesting items that we should try. His engaging conversation was truly pleasant and because he knew we were attending the show, he made sure our orders were placed expeditiously!!! Some say it was pricey, but you have to remember, you are paying for the Experience and we truly had a Great One. I got the Lobster Shrimp Scampi and my Sister got the Crab Cakes! Worth every penny!!! I am definitely returning!! Parking is also validated!!! -
Our dinner at the Lenny was a solid 7/10. Come here for the outstanding views of Durham and the surrounding Piedmont Triassic Basin. The food was good, the smash burger I ordered hit the spot, but my wife's tacos could have used something extra like onions or pico. The service was a little uninspired, but perfectly serviceable, just remember that you came here for the views. -
Carlyn was the most amazing waitress ever. She was so patient and helpful and great with my gluten allergy. The area outside was sublime. Arguably, the best rooftop in Durham. Great for a festive group night out or birthday! And the cherry on top of the cake was the baseball game that we got to watch for free. 20/10! -
The worst part was getting on the wrong elevator 😂 . Only the elevator to the eigt goes all the way up. The space is beautiful, the staff was lovely and special thanks the Mehki, our server who was so sweet and attentive. The food was delicious and the cocktails were perfect. I had the buffalo flatbread, lamb chops and “Welcome to the jungle “ cocktail. Everything was A1. 10/10 Wouls definitely recommend. The views from inside bar and outdoor tables were amazing. -
Okay so my husband and I went for our anniversary last night. Our waitress was very kind and we were served a glass of anniversary champagne. We ordered drinks and the meat and cheese appetizer. Drinks were delicious, the app was okay. The meat tasted a little old. What lowered the review for me was the food. My husband got the duck and I got lobster scampi. That was the WORST scampi I ever had in my life. Lobster was overcooked and the pasta tasted like water. Absolutely no seasoning on anything. The little bit of sauce that was on it tasted like nothing. My husband's duck was good but the vegetables were bland. I had them take the plate back and attempted to order something new but chaos ensured. The wind picked up and cutlery was flying off tables, glasses were breaking and those of us outside and to flee inside for safety. My husband eyes were red and burning from something that flew in his eyes. I just told the waitress we wanted the bill and I didn't end up getting the burger. We left because my husband needed attention for his eyes. I like the concept of the place but the food left a lot to be desired. I was also disappointed in the lack of response from management when things went haywire. No apologies or anything. I get no one can control mother nature but people were just standing around and in panic and they were no where to be found. I would be willing to try it out again, but respectfully, someone please learn to at least put salt in the food and glaze and sauce CANNOT compensate for flavor.
