The rooms are very clean and comfortable. All the appliances are clean and work well. The beds are extremely comfortable and very clean. From the pillows to the sheets, everything was exceptionally clean and comfortable.
I can't say enough good things about the staff, I wish I could give them 10 stars! Everyone, from the front desk employees to the kitchen staff go out of their way to be personable, friendly, and helpful. The management should be very proud of the staff and environment they provide to guests!
I would not want to stay anywhere else on my trips to Durham! -
Rooms were fabulous. Large, accommodating and clean. I always insist of a balcony with a view. My view was called "the wilderness" Were there trees? Yup. But in front of those trees were 2 eyesores of dumpsters and beyond that was a super loud highway. If you're looking for a room with a balcony your choices are the "wilderness" or the main road looking into Home Depot parking lot. We also had a strong scent of gas. I let the desk know, but I don't think anything was done about it. It's a dog friendly hotel which is cool, but the hallways shouldn't be carpeted. They had nice tile floors near the elevators, why not continue that throughout? The hallway carpets were nasty with stains. The breakfast and staff were amazing. Lobby and dining area were beautiful. The pool was well kept and refreshing. Location was perfect to where we needed to be. Would I stay again? Yes, the rooms really nice for a great price. I would also suggest 2 chairs and a table on the balcony. We only had one, no table. -
Stayed here overnight. I was genuinely shocked at how unbelievably NICE these rooms were. The setup is like a small apartment, decorated VERY well, everything was SO CLEAN, the bed was super comfy and shower was fantastic. Alyssa, who helped me at the front desk, was extremely kind and very welcoming and accommodating. The location is super convenient to a multitude of restaurants, and very safe area of Durham. I definitely wished I had stayed here more than 1 night, I didn’t want to leave! -
Really would not recommend this location.
Ive had so many issues ive never had before at a hotel.
My mother made a hotel reservation through a third party and it was meant to be at a different location. So a member of our party called this location to see if the reservation could be transfered. When we called this location to ask whether the reservation could be transferred they informed us that was something they couldn't do. Okay thats fine. We informed the front desk person that the person who made the reservation, my mom, will call the hotel to be given information about next steps. At this point we had no idea the front desk person canceled our reservation without informing us, without confirming with my mom who booked the reservation, and without receiving any request from us to cancel the reservation. Minutes later my mom got information from the third party that transfers were not possible. So of course, we decided to stick with our current reservation and we understand a mistake was made. When we arrived at the hotel, we were told by the clerk that she canceled our non‑refundable reservation. Again, we never once told her to cancel the reservation. And she never once spoke to the person who made the reservation to be given the authority to cancel.
She acknowledged that she canceled the reservation without confirming with us and spent about an hour on the phone with the third party attempting to resolve the issue. During this time, my entire party waited in the lobby. She was unable to reach a resolution, didnt attempt to contact a manager, and her suggestion was to purchase a room again. She also suggested that we call the third party ourselves. We then stayed in the lobby as we attempted to resolve with the third party. We had nowhere else to go as we had only made the last minute reservation after a number of flights were canceled due to bad weather. After about another hour my mom was left with no choice but to pay for another booking. The person at the front desk gave no assurance that management would be informed of the situation.
Later, after settling into the room and settling with the third party we returned to the front desk to ask for the front desk person's name as we had every intention to talk to management the next day. A different person, Alison, was on duty. When we explained the situation and asked about management, Alison dismissed our concerns. She accused us of trying to get a free night (although we had paid TWICE at this point), she told us not to inform management so her colleague wouldn’t get in trouble, and she stated that we were “just down to complain.”
This behavior was extremely unprofessional. Our reservation was canceled without our consent, we were left waiting for hours without a resolution, we had to repurchase our room, and then we were then dismissed and spoken to disrespectfully when trying to discuss the situation and ask about specifics about when management would arrive (since the first clerk gave a vauge answer).
I have never had a hotel admit to have caused so many issues for a customer but take NO responsibility for making it right.
I left and slept in the airport that night. The rest of my family stayed (there were young children in our party) and had other issues the day after that I cant personally touch upon.
I do NOT recommend this location. Go anywhere else. -
AC not getting cool and I'm told it's all the rooms. Halls not vacuumed and stale smell. Have stayed here often before with no complaints but will not be returning.
