Conveniently situated between Durham and Raleigh, the newest location for this restaurant/bar/entertainment venue promises to be a hole-in-one. With three different levels, there is plenty of room for groups and crowds looking to have a good time in their 100 climate-controlled outdoor hitting bays, each with their own HDTV, on the rooftop terrace with fire pits, or inside with a cocktail and bar bites watching the 28-foot video wall. This is Topgolf’s third location in the state, with the first two North Carolina locations in Charlotte.

First time here. Started off great. Front desk was friendly & knowledgeable. We booked using the app so we just had to be assigned a bay. Top floor, great view, fun golf games. Server slowly came over took our drink order & got them entirely wrong. Didn’t take them off the check. I tried ordering a drink from the menu & it was gross. That one was removed from check. The pretzels were hot & delicious. The server didn’t buss our table until we left. Watched her “clean” the table next to us after that group left. Plates that were not used were not removed from table before spraying the cleaning solution so that misted onto the plates for the next group to use. Fortunately, we didn’t have to pay the $12 for 2 lifetime memberships. -
don’t go here!! Worst experience ever. The food came out cold The fries came out cold as well. The ranch was half spilt before I even ate my food ( too much ranch). The nachos were cold as well. We ordered drinks and they never came. I’m only eating the food to survive at this point. Go next-door to Andretti’s. do not go here. -
The overall experience was okay, but there are a few areas that need improvement.
First, the food was extremely salty. The fries, potato tots, and breaded chicken wings were all heavily over-seasoned. The burgers were decent, but some of the food was noticeably greasy. Don’t come here for the food.
Second, the bays were uncomfortably hot. There appeared to be only two fans. One fan was pointed away from our bay and provided no relief, while the other only reached us briefly every few seconds. One fan serving multiple bays is simply not enough, especially during warmer months. Adding additional fans would make a significant difference in customer comfort.
Another issue is the sun exposure in the bays during the late afternoon and early evening. Around 5:00 to 6:00 PM, the setting sun shines directly into the bays and into customers’ faces. It seems the facility’s orientation allows the western sun to become a major distraction. Installing shades, screens, or another form of sun protection would greatly improve the experience. Ideally, the bays would have been positioned differently to minimize direct sun exposure during peak evening hours.
Overall, the venue has potential, but the excessive salt on the food, heat in the bays, and direct sun exposure negatively impacted the experience. -
Was my initial visit. Will go again!!
Let's handle the downside first.
1. Strongly recommend a reservation. Our wait time was over an hour.
2. No coat check or place for coat storage during colder months proves inconvenient for groups having to use seating space for coats.
Now to the good stuff!!
1. Plenty of parking!
2. Staff had great personalities and were most gracious with our party of 8. Despite being slammed, they worked 💪🏽 tirelessly ensuring each and every request was met.
3. Food and cocktails were surprisingly good! 👍🏽 😋 Enjoyed the fried mac 'n cheese balls, my burger 🍔 and accompanied tater tots. Others said the sampler platter, the chicken sliders, The Three Ritas and Dirty Dr. Pepper (cocktails) were tasty.
4. Overhead heaters worked well.
Our group had an absolutely fantastic evening, laughing, hanging out, sharing food and celebrating my nephew's birthday! Will definitely be returning!! -
I came in during the World Cup game on Saturday. I highly suggest making a reservation; we did not, and it was a significant wait. While I did not play, it seemed well-equipped for players of all levels; many people even brought their own clubs! My group was definitely not at that level, but the atmosphere was perfect. Our server, I believe her name was Kat or Katy, was very nice and approachable even with all the chaos around her.
I do not think Topgolf was expecting so many people; it seemed like all the servers were spread too thin. A couple more servers would definitely have improved the customer experience and probably helped the workers with the workload. Our server was consistently checking on us, even when it seemed everyone needed something, she made a stop at our table. Under normal circumstances, it would have been nice for her to stay for more than a couple of seconds, but she was very efficient with the workload. I think the servers need something that can print receipts. It did not appear actually to tell our server that we wanted a receipt. The last time we were here, they did not have the devices; it definitely improved our experience. The food was also delayed; the wait for food was definitely the worst part.
I do wish there were more efficient ways to ventilate the place. Even with the fans running, it was very hot, and they were blowing away boxes and small pieces of trash.
