I am not a vegetarian or vegan, however this is the ideal place if you are!!
My standard order are their delicious Soul Rolls 😋 and the fresh lemonade 🍋 which is incredible! Never disappoints!
Have a diverse selection of desserts. Have had a couple of different desserts, pie 🥧 and cookies 🍪. Yum! 😋 😋😋
Customer service was warm and very friendly! Greatly appreciate their kind and attentive staff.
The inside is very earthy with lots of nice plants. 🪴🪴🪴 Inside and outside seating are available. Atmosphere is pleasant (really not my taste-I perfer modern minimalist).

I’ve been to Pure Soul three times now, and even though I live just over an hour away, it is absolutely worth the drive for me. Honestly, I’d make the trip just for the meal alone.
The friendliness of the staff, including one of the owners, Andrew, has been consistent every single visit. Each time I walk in, I feel genuinely welcomed, like I’m sitting down to eat at a family table rather than a restaurant.
I’ve brought someone different with me each time, and without fail everyone is blown away by how good the food is. So far I’ve tried the shrimp hoagie, almost every side dish, and several appetizers. My family has even ordered takeout through me, and every single person has loved it.
And the homemade pickles… did you know they sell jars of them? Because they do, and they’re incredible.
The people, the food, the vibe. I love all of it. Pure Soul is something really special. -
Just here to second all the other stellar
reviews. As a vegetarian Southerner, I so rarely have the opportunity to enjoy Southern cuisine so thoroughly. The food here is satisfying and delicious. Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Durham from the food to the vibes to the service. Incredible experience. I cannot say enough good things about Pure Soul. -
Delicious. Vegan. Great staff. Family friendly and great outdoor seating with lots of greenery. I’m not a full-time vegan eater, but if there were more places like Pure Soul, I’d do it! I’m always trying new things here, and I’m never disappointed. Tasty, and flavorful. It costs a little more than fast food, but it’s worth every penny. Highly recommend for your vegan eaters or anyone who wants a great meal.

I’m so happy we decided to check this place out. My husband doesn’t typically eat vegan food, but we wanted to try something new. The food was so flavorful, made with fresh ingredients, and perfectly hot in temperature when we received it (I strongly dislike when my food is lukewarm). Can’t wait to show this place to friends and family when they come to visit.
