In lieu of Food, apply my 5 stars to the Wines! Welcoming atmosphere, great wines with lots of knowledge about them (priced by the whole & half glass, plus you can get a bottle and enjoy in house), and the ease & directness of service (a husband & wife team!) make for a great afternoon with a glass (or two)! Also great events so you can get to know winemakers, other craftspeople, DJs. -
This is a wonderful, local Portuguese inspired European style wine bar. The owner is Portuguese and has brought over some of his favorite flavors from across the pond. Delicious wine offerings, with a small snack variety (currently, but planning to expand), and a very cozy space to enjoy some good wine and conversation.
If you haven't checked this new local gem out yet, you're definitely missing out. -
This is a great find in the Triangle. It’s the only true Portuguese Wine Bar I have found in the area. There are very cute cultural touches that reminds me of Portugal from the artwork to the table clothes. The atmosphere is great. The wine selection is amazing, with reds and whites from various regions in Portugal. Feels truly authentic. -
I can’t say enough GREAT things about Pinhiero!! The wines are unexpected, delicious and Sergio, the owner, always knows exactly what I’m looking for (even if I don’t). There are fun pop ups with regional wine makers and food carts (who knew a sparkling wine pairs perfect with a hot dog). But the most important thing is the atmosphere that the owners Sergio and Gina have created - they are so incredibly welcoming. You walk into Pinhiero like you’re walking into your friend’s home. We moved into East Durham shortly after they opened, but Pinhiero has quickly become the heartbeat of our neighborhood, cozy, warm, and impossible not to love. 10/10 recommend 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 -
Pinheiro is amazing. It’s a beautiful little space, and the wine list is always interesting and unexpected. Sergio, the owner, is obsessed with wine in the best way, and it’s contagious. Tell him what you like and let him steer. I’ve never been steered wrong.
He and his wife Gina run the place and make you feel like a regular from the first visit. They’re just genuinely lovely people. The events are great too.
It’s become the kind of neighborhood place you actually want to spend time in. If you haven’t been, go!
