The newly renovated art museum on the campus of North Carolina Central University displays over 1,300 pieces in its permanent collection, along with numerous special exhibits each year. Home to one of the leading collections of African American art in the state, both the permanent collection and rotating exhibits at the NCCU art museum explore the black experience.

A great venue, they are working to update it but for now what matters was great, the recital was class AAA

Small, but worth stopping in if you are in the area.

I was pleasantly surprised to learn of this museum. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because they don’t have dedicated parking for visitors. If you go while classes are in session, prepare to find parking among the student population. I brought my baby, so there was a bit of a hike with the stroller. The museum was easy to find on campus and I look forward to coming back during another exhibit.
