I love this place NOT because of anyone particular stand out item, but really because of its spectrum of positive things.
One, the food is good/great and covers a spectrum of different types
Two, it's just got a nice and quaint atmosphere. Somewhat old-school Chapel Hill, but just a great vibe and feeling to it
Three, they're very well known for their slices of cake and they are fantastic. They're known for their strawberry shortcake cake the most, but I think that's a decoy because the single best slice of cake they have is the chocolate strawberry cake. Plus, they make the cheesecake factory look like fools because you can get a huge HALF slice of cake here and it's a totally reasonable $5.75
Four, the freaking prices! You can get a glass of wine for $7.75! This is untouched in the modern era, and it just makes the experience that much more inviting. Because you're not just getting arbitrarily gouged in one area and they actually have areas that are well below the market averages, all while experiencing the above three items.
Five, they have a really good, affordably priced prime rib dinner on Saturdays and Sundays, and it was great
We got the prime rib special, the Atlantic salmon meal, and a burger with onion rings - and a $7.75 glass of wine!

Brought Dad here for his 92nd birthday and every aspect of the Nantucket Grill experience was exceptional. Master Chef in the back of the House oversees incredibly well seasoned and cooked entress. Front of the House is hoping BUSY but wait staff like Carson recommends options then remains attentive and unflustered (even when one of our party accidentally knocks over a full glass of ice water). Before you get seated ask to see the display cooler of multi-layered, outrageously decorated cakes & try not to droll on the frosty glass window.

Visiting the area, we decided to stop and try the food. Started off with the crab dip which came with pita points. It was very tasty. I had the herb, roasted chicken and tray that came with the mixed vegetables in my husband had the stuffed shrimp. He was very happy with the stuffed shrimp and my herb roasted chicken was very tasty. The mixed vegetables were OK and I’d say we go back again. The inside could use a little updating, but all in all it was a nice experience.

Very disappointed that the fish and chips does NOT come with chips. You choose a side with this dish, and french fries are an option, but I chose something else thinking that the dish itself would already include fries… apparently not. The fish itself is bland but nicely fried, so with the sauces, it’s alright. Please edit your menu to make it clear that we’re just getting fried fish next time.

What a great find.
The clam chowder was delicious!! I had the pine nut salad, I was a bit disappointed. It needed a bit of sweetness, maybe honey in the dressing or a candied nuts. Shrimp poboy sandwich and jambalaya pasta were enjoyed by my friends and they raved about them. The desert selection is visible as you walk in and even if you don’t have room after dinner can be taken to go… which I highly recommend.

Stopped in for a French dip and impulsively grabbed some banana pudding while I was there! The French dip was pretty good, but the pudding was AMAZING!

They have a variety of food options for everyone. The service is great. There are wonderful choices for desserts and very popular. The food is made fresh and served hot. They also have cold plate meals served depending on what you are craving for as your appetite.

The Nantucket Grill has a very nice and pleasant atmosphere. The evening of the restaurant was inviting. Our waiter was extremely helpful for recommendations on the menu. The entrée was delicious. I look forward to a future visit. Thank you.

My husband and I were invited here with some friends. We got the Cajun steak and loaded mash potatoes. The steak flavor was really good but the steak was tough. The mash potatoes was delicious! But because of the service, the welcoming atmosphere and the delicious potatoes we will definitely come back for another visit. We will try something else other than steak 😊. We ordered the strawberry shortcake and salted caramel cake. They were both really good but the shortcake was my favorite. I definitely recommend this place to visit.

This was my first time here. I came with friends and we had a great time. The food was absolutely delicious, service was good and we loved the atmosphere. We sat out on the enclosed patio. The weather was great, but they also have mini ceiling fans in the lights over the booths. This made it even better. Definitely will be returning. I had the Jambalaya Pasta. Don’t forget to try the cake. I had the Toffee cake and I wanted it for later, but it didn’t make it home. The Birthday cake was also a hit! Including the tip, I spent less than $40.

We found this great place about 6 years ago when our daughter was
in college at UNC. Now our son is going to school there too. Crab cakes and the salmon salad are our favorites. Of course we get a piece of the strawberry shortcake, chocolate peanut butter cake and lemon cake to go!

This would be a decent recommendation for an annoying coworker who you want to stop asking you questions.
How do you manage to serve a key lime pie that is both 80% merengue and also void of any flavor? Key limes are in the name!
I hear the clam chowder is good.
