This is a nice outdoor nature park. There is no playground or any fancy equipment. The only facilities is a portapotty by the parking lot. There is a disk golf course and several trails through the woods. So if you're looking for a nice quiet stroll through the woods, this is your place.

I am reviewing the disc golf course at the park in particular. The course has advanced and recreational tees and baskets. I love the recreational course, not too long or difficult, but I have not been brave enough to try the advanced yet. I gave three stars because the signage needs improved and there are no bathrooms available besides a portable toilet next to the parking lot. As a woman I would appreciate an indoor restroom especially to wash up. The rest of the park seemed neat with the old homestead and other buildings to view when they are open. Included some pics of the surroundings.

I mainly visit for the disc golf course. I've played here since about 2008 when it was still pretty rugged and had original holes. The improvements they've made over these last couple years is astounding. They have replaced broken signs, added alt baskets on almost every hole, and the course is once again easy to navigate.I think this course doesn't get as much recognition as it deserves. One of the more challenging advanced courses in the surrounding area, and it's almost never crowded.2020 update: Getting better! They have reworked some of the teepads and added new ones from when they had to move the holes next to the apartments a few years back. They have done great work. The 'advanced' course has improved navigation and flow. Still one of the best kept secrets in NC.

This is a really nice park and the trails seem well used but really wet. We took our kiddos for a "hike" and had fun but I probably wouldn't choose this spot again because it was so wet. The kids had a BLAST playing around all the old farmhouse stuff though.

Awesome course. Happy someone is looking after the grass growing. Super fun layout. If confuses just play the yellow baskets

Fun, technically challenging disc golf course with a nice beginners course attached! A little hard to follow signage sometimes.

Great disc golf course. Very beefy and a lot of different ways you can play the course. A little bit hairy and needs better signage still.

Excellent park hidden in a sliver of land near multiple highways. My daughter is constantly asking to go to "the owl park". The outer loop trail is a nice hike through mixed hardwoods and wetland.

Beautiful open spaces, and a comprehensive wooded disc golf course. So glad I found this spot!

Nice park, but under resourced by Durham. For example, it's historic, but nothing provides the history, not even simple signs. And no trail maps to aid planning a walk/hike. Strong potential as a great future park.
