La Mala was a great choice. The food flavor and freshness really stood out — everything tasted intentional and well-prepared. Portions were on the smaller side but surprisingly filling, which worked perfectly since we were heading to a show afterward and didn’t feel overly full or uncomfortable. Service was good overall and the experience felt smooth. I’d definitely go back. -
I went for my first visit on a Friday and returned again on the following Tuesday (on taco tuesday which also falls on cinco de mayo so they were slammed but that’s to be expected). Food was delicious! I ordered the birria tacos and the la mala drink, no complaints! Friendly staff, flavorful food, in a great location. -
A friend suggested we try here for good food & drinks. We sat at the bar. Had Al Pastor tacos that were delicious & the “Mexicans in a Blanket” were as described. -
This place offers great food and cocktails at a convenient location in Downtown Durham. A perfect place to grab some food and drinks before an event in DPAC or Carolina Theatre! -
We visited right after it was rebranded to La Santa & had lunch. The food was great & the service was as well. The manager came by to check on us during our visit. The music had all of the salsa & baccarat vibes. It wasn't too crowded because it was a rainy day which was perfect for us. We'll be back!
