Overview
As an old school/new school Korean sandwich joint, KoKyu’s Na’Mean is a great place to go if you’re looking for a flavorful bite in RTP. Originally, this restaurant started as a food truck by the name of KoKyu BBQ. As owner David “Flip” Filippini saw more and more success with the truck, he was able to open Na’Mean and begin serving these tasty sandwiches.

Tried this place on a whim while my parents were in town and was most pleasantly surprised. Outdoor seating is gorgeous and peaceful and the staff were all extremely friendly, tentative, and helpful. Very casual, good vibes. Food was GREAT! Had the Chicken Bacon Franch and the Street Corn Dip and Chips. Both were delicious and good portions. Overall 10/10 for a casual vibe with flavorful, unique food. Tons of options and no one in our party had a bad food choice! Next time you’re around Southpoint definitely give them a try. -
Came here for lunch for the first time and was not disappointed. The food was amazing, service was friendly and the outdoor seating area was perfect. I shared the Burnt End Nachos (full size) and the Furikake Fries with my friend and we were stuffed afterwards. Both dishes were delicious and we're definitely gonna come back here for the highly talked about bahn mis. All of their dishes come in to-go like containers and the restaurant overall has a very chill vibe. Only sad thing is that their oven isn't working right now, so they don't offer bahn mis at the moment. -
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
KoKyu is an absolute gem.
The food here is on another level. The street corn is ridiculous — packed with flavor and easily one of the best I’ve had anywhere. The tofu wraps are surprisingly bold and satisfying, and the Bahi sandwich is just super good, the kind of thing you think about days later.
But honestly, what pushes this place over the top is the customer service. Everyone here treats you like they’re genuinely happy you came in. Friendly, fast, and on point from start to finish.
Great food, great people, great vibe. Easy five stars. -
Kyoku near Southpoint is seriously amazing. I’ve lived in this area for years and have seen this place so many times but never stopped in. I finally decided to try it and I’m honestly mad at myself for waiting so long because the food is that good.
The braised short rib is absolutely to live for. Super tender, packed with flavor, and cooked perfectly. You can tell real care goes into the food here. The prices are also really good for the quality you get, which makes it even better.
Service was completely on point. Staff was friendly, attentive, and checked on me more than most places without being over the top. The location was clean and had a really cool, groovy vibe. It honestly gave me food truck vibes but in the best way possible—casual, fun, and high quality.
The beer was also delicious and they have a really great craft beer selection. If you’re near Southpoint and haven’t tried Kyoku yet, you’re missing out. I will definitely be back. Highly recommend checking this place out. -
A solid spot to eat in or take out, and a really good spot if you’re craving Bulgogi style bowls!
Stopped here to grab dinner for my brother and his wife as they welcomed a son at the hospital. We got an assortment of bowls, General Ko’s, spicy beef, spicy pork, and also the chicken nuggets and fries for the kids.
The bowls were each good, though maybe too much vegetables in the spicy beef, and perhaps not enough in the Ko’s. Overall, though the portions are very strong! The chicken nuggets were good, and the fries were actually the home run of the meal, well battered and fried, and a great level of salt!
I also saw it looked like a giant outdoor area, which would be great with kids, especially when the weather is nice.
Well, I wouldn’t necessarily go out of my way to get it, if I was in the area, it’s a great choice!
