Owner and founder Karen Poulson has been serving South Durham in this taproom's Hope Valley Commons location since 2014. Growler Grlz has 42 taps, an extensive wine list and a patio. You can also find regular trivia nights, a run club and other fun games in the taproom.

Always a great vibe. I hate being outside in the summer and wish there was more room inside but it is what it is and I’m not gonna mark down a great business for working with what they got. And honestly, when it’s less muggy with less mosquitoes, outside is great
Oh and the pittie pup greeter is such a sweet girl!
EDIT 6/11: I know people will be like, "just a dog," but sorry if i misgendered Grady puppy. Regardless, such a sweetheart!!!!

Stopped by this extremely chill and happy spot with a couple of friends for some drinks and food (pizza from the shop next door). First off, the bar has an amazing and original vibe—super inviting and full of character. Honestly, I could’ve just stayed inside solo, soaking in all the original art on the walls. Even the bathroom was clean and filled with quirky, wonderful art objects… I almost felt bad wrapping up my tinkle and heading out.
As someone who doesn’t drink alcohol, I really appreciated the special root beer they had on tap—such a nice touch. We ended up hanging out for nearly four hours (could’ve stayed even longer). The Growler Girlz’ charming “vibe snarls” are still with me. Thank you! Can’t wait to visit again. 💗

Great place! Stopped here as an impromptu visit with my girlfriend. Service is super friendly (much more than the other taprooms in the area) and they have a great selection of both local craft beer and some harder to find imports! The band was great and I think I found my new favorite taphouse in the Triangle.

Outstanding little place !! Discovered this little spot on my first trip to Durham. Definitely a go to on any visit. Great local draft selections. Friendly and fun staff as well.

Great little place to try a ton of local and not so local draft beers. If you like beer, they will have at least 4 or 5 that you can drink. Located in a neat little place with a big patio and a pizza place next doors to eat, drink and relax outdoors. We have been 3 times and have already decided this is our place twice a month!!! The staff is always welcoming and willing to let you sample beers until you find what you like.

Stopped in for a drink. Large selection. We sat out in the patio. Karen (and Grady, cute pup) were warm and welcoming 😄 will stop in again to try a few other options.
