Owner and founder Karen Poulson has been serving South Durham in this taproom's Hope Valley Commons location since 2014. Growler Grlz has 42 taps, an extensive wine list and a patio. You can also find regular trivia nights, a run club and other fun games in the taproom.

Been a couple times, and both times, they’ve had friendly staff and a great selection of beers. Outdoor seating is available, and sometimes they will have musics or entertainment. You can also order pizza from Randy’s next door, making an evening of pizza and beer easy and fun.

Fantastic beer. Extremely friendly staff. Welcoming laid back atmosphere. Quiet. Good pizza next door and you can eat it there. Some outside seating. Easy parking.

With the best Durham pizzeria next door, & plenty of other food delivery from nearby, it doesn't get much better anywhere.

I have loved this place since the day I walked in. Im a stout/dark beer gal and I love that I can come here anytime of year and have a fantastic selection for me. It drives me crazy when I go to a place that has 70% or more IPAs on their list with brown or amber being their darkest. Growler Grlz has an excellently balanced selection and it's color coded, I love that touch. The folks serving are awesome, happy to offer suggestions and samples and even come up with fun mixes. Highly recommend.

Phenomenal selection of beers that encompass the entire range of types and locations that you want to try.
The service was a little slow but not terrible. The interior space is very limited but they have a few event tents outside. On a rainy/cold day, seating might be limited.
There is a pizza joint next door where you can grab some food and eat while enjoying your tasty adult beverages!
Will definitely return when I am in the area!

Love the trivia nights here! They also always have three gluten free taps that aren’t changed, so it’s super safe for those who are gluten free like me.
The staff is amazing and friendly and the rest of the regulars are super welcoming and kind.

100 out of 10 in both selection and service. And they frequently have amazing local music. There is a very warm local watering hole vibe from everyone there.

Had the pleasure of going to Growler Grlz last night. What a great place. Had the pleasure of meeting Bear a fantastic bar tender and V one of the owners. They were so welcoming.
Great selection of beer, something for everyone.

Such a wonderful place! The vibe, the crowd, the bands, the beer, everything is amazing! Love it here! Saw the amazing band The Phoebes! So incredibly talented and so much fun!
