this place was HUGE!!! when you think you find the end of it, it just keeps going! unfortunately when i stopped by, i didn’t have time to dig through much more than the homewares, but if you have a couple hours i’m certain you could find some real gems here! lots of good deals :)

This is a pretty decent thrift store, & I'm there at least once or twice a week. There are plenty of options for improvement, tho: (1) Virtually everything in housewares is marked $1.99, $2.49, or $2.99 regardless of what it is - making individual glasses either 2 or 4 times more than they are priced at TROSA Thrift. The volume of donations here could certainly accommodate lower pricing to help with turnover. (2) Again, in housewares, I would estimate that at least 10% of the items are damaged, chipped, or missing parts. There doesn't ever seem to be a process of staff looking through this stuff to toss out broken/damaged items (or to heavily discount them). (3) Don't know if this applies to women's shoes, but unlike Goodwill & other thrift stores, there's not a standard price for Men's Shoes, & the pricing they go with can only be called "astronomical" - even in comparison with consignment shops. It's pointless to even look at men's shoes here.

Great place for crockery, drinking glasses and wine glasses. Roughly $2 each, on average. They have used books too.

Always a nice shopping experience. The store was full of items to chose from. Nice and clean. Huge, clean bathrooms. Three employees asked if they could be of assistance to us. Plenty of parking. They have a new app that helps you save up bonus cash towards a future purchase.

By FAR my favorite place to make donations. At many other thrift / donation centers, you need to either make an appointment or wait quite a long time to find an employee who’s willing to take your stuff, and many places are unpredictably selective with what they will take. Not so the Durham Rescue Mission - here, there is never any wait, and as soon as I pull up, someone always approaches with an empty shopping cart to help me offload anything I’d care to donate. I will keep coming back here and recommend it highly to all.
