The reason I am giving you guys three stars is because, when placing my order. my wife asked for chili, onions , slaw, and ketchup. But I got chilli, onions, slaw, and mustard!! I’m allergic to mustard! Very disappointing. This cookout is one of my favorite spots to stop at! Please verify orders with customers! -
Been coming to this location since before I could drive and I'm in my 30s now and this place has gone downhill bad. I can't remember the last time I got an order of fries from here that wasn't soaking wet and limp and soggy like some kind of potato noodles. I've been going here about once a week for the past 20 years, mostly to get milkshakes for my family, and the french fries have been consistently soggy and terrible for longer than a lot of my friends kids have been alive.
I just got my usual order of a burger and fries today only to realize that the cheese on my burger smelled and tasted darn near rotten. I pulled off a little piece of the melted side cheese like I always do and the smell and taste of it made me sick.
Also almost every time I get a milkshake now it has some kind of clear sticky thick substance stuck to the top of the cup. I'm not sure if this is some kind of milk shake base gel that's not getting mixed thoroughly enough, or if its some kind of food safe grease they are lubricating the milk shake spinner with but either way I'm getting sick of cleaning it off of my cups and lids and wondering if its even supposed to be in my milkshake or not.
Another problem is half the time the people running the window can't even understand the customers. I keep getting items in my bag that sound similar to what I ordered instead of what I actually ordered. Like "heath" milkshakes instead of "peach" milkshakes.
I'm not usually a complainer but after a few years I'm getting tired of the soggy fries. -
tastes like a burger you make at home, which is nice. but the "regular" size, for $5, is pretty small

I ordered a steak-style tray with double chili cheese fries, no lettuce or tomatoes. I just wanted it with cheese & fried onions for a friend. I even showed them the text my friend sent, & they still decided to give me whatever they want to give me.
When I showed up to my friend’s house to drop off the food, she complained that they put lettuce, tomato, & mayo on her steak-style sandwich with no cheese or onions, & the bread was very soggy & wet. How could you miss that when I told you exactly what I wanted & showed you the text? It seems like it was intentionally done. -
Of all the memories made at Duke, Cook Out will definitely be at the very top…
