Truly a dining experience that is best enjoyed with a large group of people. We had the pleasure of trying the family style dinner among a large party and it was a fantastic time- every dish was absolutely delicious and we got to try just about the entire menu. The owner was an absolute joy to be around and it felt like the type of restaurant you are proud to support. Authentic and awesome! -
Italian dishes are always a personal favorite; this restaurant offers more of a unique authentic style of Italian cuisine. Assortment of dishes without overlapping and featuring pasta after pasta options. This restaurant has different choices.
What grows together goes together, there are some wonderful wine selections, various varietals that one may not have tried before. It’s incredible. Guests can purchase bottles from the restaurant, which is a bonus as many wines you can’t get on your own.
Overall, service both times by different team members was over the top type of hospitality care. The food is pretty flavorful + acceptable, but the wine list is the true showcase here; as it provides descriptions of each wine’s tasting profile and what to expect as you venture with a glass of it. -
1. Poor communication
2. Rude service
3. Food does not justify attitude or price
We were extremely disappointed with our experience at this restaurant. From the beginning, the communication around our reservation was poor. Opentable made it impossible to modify our reservation, so we called the restaurant TWICE a week before, and the reservation was still wrong. We were required to pay a $180 deposit upfront and were clearly told it would be applied toward our meal. However, once the bill arrived, we were informed that the deposit would instead be refunded back to the card in 5–7 business days. That’s not what was communicated when booking, and it felt dishonest and unnecessarily inconvenient.
The food itself did not justify the attitude or pricing. The risotto was noticeably undercooked, and overall the meal was a poor value for the money.
To make matters worse, after an hour and 15 minutes--shortly after finishing our entrees and before ordering dessert--we were asked to rush and vacate our table within 15 minutes for the next seating, which made the entire evening (which was a special occasion) feel rushed and transactional rather than enjoyable.
This restaurant projects an air of arrogance that is completely unsupported by the quality of the food or service. There are far better places that actually value their customers.
STAY AWAY. -
Convivio is such an amazing restaurant. Great, well curated Italian wines at reasonable prices. Every menu item I have tried has been great. I had the insalate Sfiziosa, Gnocchi alla Norcina, and the Cipolle al Forno. Wow. Gelato for dessert. The Il Sasso to wash it all down. Very much recommended. -
We went with the surprise of the chef choice 4 course meal for $59 per person.. We were served a purcuttio/cheese appetizer, followed by beef lasagna with fabulous flavors perfect fresh pasta. Net came an absolutely delicious mushroom truffle risotto. My favorite was the final course of perfectly prepared grilled cod paired nicely with cannellini beans. We are glad to for the opportunity to sample so many different things and the portions were just right. The boars showed a Thur special of chefs choice 3 course meal for $35, so we’ll definitely return. The owner is very nice and has good reason to take great pride in his wonderful restaurant.
