Reasonably priced, clean, basic, simple, bug-free, old furniture, but maintained hotel. This hotel is huge with long corridors, undistinguishable except for the room number on the door, and so it may be hard to find your room. The rooms are essentially boxes lacking character. But the price is right for a one night stay. And given the reasonable price, it's understandable that the owners lack the revenue to improve the hotel to give it some pizazz. -
Always a comfort stay... It's in their name.
I'll be looking for another Comfort Inn on the Raleigh section of my work project.
The beds are comfortable. Plenty of pillows and the rooms were clean. The lady at the front desk was super nice. I had to do an early check-in since I work nights right now.
One thing I absolutely hate about Comfort Inn is the fact they treat internet bandwidth as if it's some sort of limited resource. They use Spectrum at this location and cap you at 10Mbps down. Upload bursts up to 22Mbps, but levels off at 10Mbps.
If you need faster, they make you pay. IT'S 2026 PEOPLE! WAKE UP!!
You can't even watch a 1080p/60 video without it buffering. This is the ONLY hotel chain that still milks this. Pathetic!
In 2026, give us at least 25Mbps. For a few dollars more I can stay at a nicer place and have 250Mbps! You have Spectrum. It's more than capable of handling it! -
Convenient location off expressway with restaurants within walking distance. Room was clean but dated. Breakfast was limited in selection. The check in may have the worst we have experienced in more than 40 years of us checking in to hotels across the nation. The clerk was quite miserable. No mention on were the breakfast location was or times of the breakfast. No mention of WiFi information. No mention of how many room keys we wanted. This person kept blaming everything on the computer, when another person came to look at it.... suddenly it worked fine. While the check in line got longer, they kept answering the phone. Also, they said there was a $100 hold for incidentals that would take at least 7 business days to be refunded to our credit card. We have never had that much for that long even at 5 star hotels. But the thing that left the most sour taste was the rude and miserable check in clerk. Our next stay while on the road will not be at any comfort inn. -
The rooms are fine for the price. The problem is that you don't know if you're car is going to be smashed up while you sleep. Came out to my truck window busted and all of my things all over the place inside. One of the hotel workers had the gall to say that the "kids" that did it "don't know any better". Not exactly comforting. Do yourself a favor and don't stay in Durham. -
Follow up: In response the owner’s clearly ignorant response. My review did not state that I never paid a deposit before. It stated I have never paid a $200 deposit for the nicest of hotels and the Comfort Inn was the farthest from nice. Also, if you were not present for Tammy’s behavior or our conversation, then it is easy to pick and choose which side you want to believe as she is the employee working for you. My attached pictures clearly show that I was honest about my experience. Also, regardless of whether Tammy was clocked in or not, rudeness was uncalled for. I will absolutely utilize the surrounding hotels in the future. Thank you for your undesired passive aggressive response. That is a great way to run business. Also, I noticed how you avoided mentioning me being locked out of my room because of a faulty lock. I recommend anyone reading this to pay a few more dollars and book the Springhill Suites across the street which I have stayed in previously. They are clean, modern, extremely pleasant staff and the breakfast is amazing. The reservation fee there was realistic at $50 to $80. Attempting to save a few dollars clearly is not worth the downgrade.
Worst hotel stay I have EVER had. Paid the regular fee at check-in only to find out there was a $200 deposit fee. I have never paid a $200 deposit fee at even the nicest, 5 star hotels. Let me also mention, that later on I overheard another person’s check-in conversation and they were only charged $100. I wonder how that determination is made? I have an idea but I digress. Then to find out the “suite” I reserved was the farthest from 5 stars you can get. Rusted tub features along with a disgusting jet spa tub from the 80’s. After 30mins of attempting to log in to the wifi, by someone who travels for work and uses hotel wifi regularly, unable to access it. In the morning upon returning to the room after leaving, my key would not work in my room door. I went to get a new key and it also did not work. I called the “guest services” desk to ask for someone to come up to my room and had the extremely unpleasant experience of dealing with Tammy, who rudely cut me off multiple times on the phone only to tell me I needed to come get a new key which I previously did with William, another team member. As I was on hold, I took the elevator down to the front desk to directly speak to Tammy who was just as nasty in person. Tammy walked away without explaining at all that she was going to get someone else. William returned and eventually agreed to come up to the room and attempt to open the door himself only to find that the battery on the door had died! So you see Tammy, while the customer is not always right, I was very much correct! I didn’t need another new key. I needed a whole new door! Awful, awful experience!
