Earned enough points by being a loyal customer of Choice Hotels that I was able to earn a free night. Spoke with Tammy at the front desk and asked to upgrade to a Suite (willing to pay the extra amount), but was told I could not because I used my points? I ask you, does this make sense? Answer is no! It makes no sense to refuse a paying, loyal customer an upgrade to an available room if they would like to do so!

We have appointments often at Duke. We always stay at this Comfort Inn. This is a nice hotel a home away from home! The staff are always friendly, rooms are comfortable and CLEAN. The breakfast offered is delicious and compliments the hotel stay. Consider this hotel when you are needing a place to go while your in Durham!!

My home away from home for the better part of a year. Clean, comfy, and quiet. What more could you ask for? Staff were all terrific, especially Henderick! Great location with tons of restaurants and attractions, and close to medical centers with a shuttle if needed. Only gripe is they could use a bigger breakfast room.

It's a decent hotel especially, for the price! Nice pool and clean rooms. Several places within walking distance to eat. I would definitely stay here again!

Response to feedback: Thanks for your response, and even though I may not have mentioned a willingness to pay for it (although it was late and I am still pretty sure I did), I did indeed ask to upgrade. The response to that "should not" have been that you can't because you used points, it should have been sure, here is what it will cost you to do so! That is what the main issue is here. I tried to do so through customer service and they said they can't, try the hotel. Called your hotel (to tell them we would be checking in late) and they said they can't because I paid with points, offered to pay for upgrade on phone (definitely did at that point). Member level is irrelevant here...go back and look at the camera, I asked to upgrade and the answer was no! That should "never" be the case if the room to do so is available (which I confirmed that it was). She did not even "try" to accommodate me, and that is just plain poor customer service!
