I did not experience bedbugs! The first reviews found online will scare you!
I am a long-term Choice Hotel member. Just for one night, the room was acceptable (not great, acceptable).
The front desk ladies both night and morning appeared to be super friendly!
as of this review: july 22nd, the hotel was literally sold out and packed with Durham residents impacted from the flood.
The hotel is nestled in a dead-end road, behind the Kaui Steakhouse, and attached to the Homewood Suites.
#googlemaps PLEASE update this location. send a #gpsmapping car to reset this location on the map! LOL
the Google map will take you several twists and turns around a frontage access road that's no longer connecting; in and fully around a currently vacant building, thru the back parking lot! Only to come out at the steakhouse parking lot again. that could be confusing if you dont know where you are going.
For this reason, Im writing a review and also sending it to Choice websute directly to update and repin their location
Choice website lists room 120 as a mobility accessible room. However, the regular low tub (although with rails) was NOT THE WALK -In shower floor that was expected. The shower head extended reach spray handle had a spewing leak at the nozzle connector. I tried to take it off and re twist for a rethread connection. It showed that a lazy maintenance man made a simple fix impossible by over tightening and possibly glued on with the caulk tape. The water was everywhere!!!!
I traveled with my mom for a Duke hospital appointment to reduce travel time from Burlington. So this wasn't my normal travel stay, which is usually 3 days. I booked with points literally hours before arriving, sight unseen, I normally check reviews PRIOR to booking. The first pictures of another review showed bedbugs! I was praying and equipped with lysol, microban, and clorox wipes. Thankfully we didn't experience bedbug bites or see any visual signs.
The 1 wall outlet in the bathroom was not even working even after I reset the button.
We survived! I won't comment on the breakfast. I can only imagine the impact of food inventory in a property that's been sold out for 2 weeks with flood victims needing to eat.

The stay was fine overall. Staff was the highlight. The hotel was okay, outdated and needing some TLC. I appreciate the breakfast and van ride (no shuttle). Location was convenient. A bit on the expensive side for the quality but we booked late. I'd recommend it.

I made a trip to visit my daughter in the area. I have stayed here multiple times, but this experience was disappointing. My room service was good, but the service and up keep of the fitness room was not up to standards. Ceiling lights were not working, towels for working were not available. The cable service for the television didn't work in the 5 days I was there. Reported the situation on multiple occasions.

Confusing entrance. Walked into the Staybridge first. First impression was the funky smell in the lobby. Although nonsmoking the upstairs hallway periodically was inundated with pot smell…Bed was comfortable. Hot shower. Shampoo and conditioner in dispensers were nice. Breakfast had make your own waffles including mini size which was nice but there was no plain bread for toast and the hot items were lukewarm brown n serve sausages, fried eggs and seasoned potato chunks. Butter was kept in the fridge in packets and was rock hard and could not soften enough to spread. No whole fruit except strawberries. Had Greek yogurt, bagels, cream cheese, cereals. However you had to leave the area to go get coffee next door. The food was kept stocked but the tables were filthy. I’d happily wipe down my own table if wet wipes were provided…I did appreciate the heat and air unit because you could leave the fan on constantly as white noise

Hard to find the entrance and a little dark but overall a nice stay if you don't need a kitchen area.

Rooms were a little dated, but has everything we needed. Beds were comfy. Wifi was fast. Great accessibility to the interstate. Felt safe.

Service was not good, had to ask for my own towels, and no tissues. Bathroom very small for a king size room.

Over the years I've had several medical procedures at UNC and Duke facilities that required an overnight and we've always stayed at this hotel. The staff has always been exceptional, the rooms and public areas are very clean and the prices are good. This time was no exception. Could use a little updating but everything is well maintained and functional. I don't see any need to look elsewhere when/if I need to return again.

People are starting to break in vehicles out there. There is a motel 6 around the corner and that's crackville methyl and they're starting to come around that area. And along with their is a habitat of humanity in a Dead end road of homeless people but they're not the ones breaking into him they're good people I've fed them and I broke bread with them very good people
