This was a really cool bar & grill. The vibe was nice and artsy. Unfortunately the food was not great. We ordered the mozzarella triangles and they tasted like they were fried in old oil. I couldn’t eat them. Hubby got the Reuben and it was so so. He gave it a 3.5. I had the burger and it was ok. It was cooked in a flat top and some people like that sorta thing. I prefer the grilled with a smoke flavor. It was a little bland for my taste. We didn’t have anything from the bar but it looks like they have a good selection of beer if you like beer. -
After wrapping up our Broker Open House at 5901 Jomali Drive, we headed over to Dain’s Place in Durham with our lender friend Jimmy Hedges from Southern Trust Mortgage, and wow… what a great call that was. The burgers were outstanding. Juicy, flavorful, cooked perfectly, and the kind of burger that makes you stop talking for a minute because everyone at the table is too busy enjoying their food.
We were going to order fries until we realized they somehow have more calories than the burger itself, so we pivoted to the side salads and felt at least slightly responsible about our life choices. Totally worth it. Great burgers without the immediate need for a nap afterward.
The atmosphere had that perfect local Durham vibe that makes you want to stay awhile. Friendly service, cold drinks, and a relaxed spot to unwind after a busy day in real estate. Honestly, some of the best conversations happen around a table with great food and good people.
If you are in Durham and looking for a legit burger spot, Dain’s Place absolutely delivers. We will definitely be back! -
Parking is difficult. Parking is for a very crowded strip mall or on the street. The food is good at about $15-$20 per person. Good selection of beer. Good service. -
Possibly the best burger I’ve had. Service was great, very friendly and attentive but not in your face bartender/server. Food came out quick and was incredibly delicious! -
Came in to meet a buddy for a drink, and ended up eating as well.
Food was great, drinks were cold and delicious, and the service was impeccable. Next time Im in Durham I'll be making my way there again
