Let me start by saying The Lincoln on Geer is hands down Durham’s BEST event venue to work with! Twyla and her husband went above and beyond to make my son’s graduation celebration truly unforgettable—even helping with setup. Every guest was amazed by how beautiful the space and event turned out. Their genuine hometown love, giving hearts, and kind spirits made this the best event we’ve hosted yet. Venue space was ample and easily accessible. Open space and lots of windows enhanced warmth of space. Live music was provided and acoustics were excellent making for a very enjoyable experience.
On-street parking and nearby garages made for easy access.

I found The Lincoln in curating a large scale Black Women's health symposium event weekend for Duke University School of Nursing. Upon arrival of my first walk through of the space, I was very impressed. I’ve been curating events in Durham and throughout the state for 15 years and I was so happy to see how well kept and maintained this was. Twyla and her husband Mark are a total joy to work with, we not only worked well together, but we shared laughs, and great conversations. Mark is the handy man you didn’t know you needed. lol. My son was with me a couple days and they were so accommodating to me in support of him while I worked. They are extremely kind and loving people and you fill that with the walls. We had several encounters leading up to the event and they allowed me to work as I needed to complete my tasks for the event, we were a team! Venues don’t usually feel that way or have that level of support. Them having Virginia & Co as one of the preferred vendors really put a special co sign on the experience because it clearly showed how important diversity, being inclusive and welcoming meant to them in this venue and business. Twyla was extremely efficient in her responsibilities and responsiveness to me as several things changed and had to be updated. She pivots well and is a great problem solving partner to work with. The space is just beautiful, the layout, the suites, the furniture, the floor, the sound, the bathrooms, I LOVE beautiful bathrooms and these are just impressive. I brought in several vendors and we all worked so well together. Leaving the space after event break down was simple and easy, Twyla and I sat and talked about the event and I was sad to leave. But after such a incredibly successful experience, I know I’ll be back to do another event there soon. If you’re looking for a sweet space, filled with love and happiness with the type of support and kindness we need in this world - Book you’re event, wedding, workshop at The Lincoln on Geer. Trust me, you’ll be glad you did. Thank you Mark and Twyla for such a great experience and memories! I’ll be back soon! 10 stars!!!
