Update:
This place is such a gem - you really can't find flavors and charm like this elsewhere in Durham. If you like authentic Asian flavors, check it out. They rotate some seasonal flavors every month!
Tucked away in an unassuming plaza, The Bean Flower is a very cute asian drink and dessert spot with authentic flavors and a fun vibe.
We tried:
Winter Melon Iimeade with aloe - very refreshing
Matcha milk tea - really nice matcha!
Iced Cendol - 10/10
Viet coffee jelly
Everything was delicious. We chose "not too sweet" for whatever had that option. -
I love this place. Every drink I have gotten here has been delicious and special. I really appreciate how CC, the owner, is so welcoming and patient with questions about the menu. I love to try the monthly specials. The Hibiscus Mango Fizz with lychee stars is also a favorite of mine. -
AMAZING matcha!! I’ve been on the hunt for some good matcha in Durham and this hit the spot. Not too sweet or clumpy or bitter, literally perfect. We also got the sago desert with mango which was delicious! Can’t wait to be back and try more from their menu. The customer service was excellent and we’re so happy to find a local business we love! -
Super cute spot!
We ordered the strawberry Matcha and the winter melon fizzy drink. They are both super good but the winter melon was our favorite. We ordered both with Boba. We were visiting from out of town and the owner is super nice and helpful with suggestions on the menu. Highly Recommend visit! -
This is really the only "authentic Asian cafe" in the area. The vibe is unique, the chairs are comfortable, and the music is great. It's a place you actually want to hang out. Rather than a corporate franchise with teenage employees who don't care, the owner actually works there and makes you feel welcome. It's not a stale & hollow vibe like most bubble tea shops, but rather inviting with flair. They have some interesting desserts that few people try, but they should. Silken tofu is hard to come by around here & it's great in the desserts. Unique place.
