Lots of open space but not much shade, and the treeline is dotted with poison ivy.

Nature in the city, Ellerbee Creek, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Museum of Life and Science- what's not to like?

It would be nice if there were available bathrooms. It makes a good place to fly drones as long as you don't fly over the nearby National Guard armory or traffic. Huge open field!

Love this Park, always so quite here, a great place to come and mediate and reflect on decisions in your life and just go through some deep thoughts. A great place to take long walks with a friend or even have a quite picnic. This is a rare gem in Durham county. Really love this place!!!

Small hiking loop through the forest. An outdoor gym and new bicycling infrastructure that connects to the North South Greenway.

Friends and I went to play pickleball. ALL of the courts are for tennis only. We brought chalk to create our own lines. The courts seemed to be in great shape though. We played at 7pm. There were plenty open.

There are 8 courts and league play doesn’t happen here very often so it’s usually a safe bet. Whether or not there are bathrooms available is a gamble (sometimes locked, sometimes out of commission). Courts are not maintained quite as well as some others though, and by that I mostly mean that there’s a good chance there will be debris from trees all over the court you wanna use

This park has been recently renovated with new parking spaces and a direct connection to the trail. The separate bathrooms have been removed, but the ones by the tennis courts are still around and should be open soon after their plumbing is finished. For now a handicap accessible porta-potty is there for nature's call. It will be quite nice when some of the planned finishing touches are applied. Now, even more easily, this park connects through to the trails that leads to The County Stadium, Duke Regional, the swimming pool, and the Life & Science museum. Also this allows you to pick up the trail that follows Ellerbee Creek and eventually can be taken under 85 and further into Durham. Quite a nice gem for the neighborhoods nearby.

Park is great for what it is baseball field and tennis courts are open, even some of the outdoor bathrooms are now open -even during COVID-19 phase 2 for NC. Connects through to the trails that lead to The County Stadium, Duke Regional, the swimming pool, and the Life & Science museum. Also this allows you to pick up the trail that follows Ellerbee Creek and eventually can be taken under 85 and further into Durham. Quite a nice gem for the neighborhoods nearby.
