This is a wonderful, local Portuguese inspired European style wine bar. The owner is Portuguese and has brought over some of his favorite flavors from across the pond. Delicious wine offerings, with a small snack variety (currently, but planning to expand), and a very cozy space to enjoy some good wine and conversation. If you haven't checked this new local gem out yet, you're definitely missing out.

I missed a place like this in the US! The wine selection is superb. The atmosphere is very special, and the service is excellent. I feel like this place attracts good people! I love the communal table; Pinheiro is the perfect place to bring a group of friends and share some laughs and memories over a glass of wine -or multiple glasses in our case 😂 I also love that they have Estrella Galicia on draft; my favorite beer from Northern Spain, makes me homesick! It is the perfect light beer to pair with tapas. Pinheiro has really good snacks, small bites, canned goods, etc., great to accompany your Estrella Galicia The bar is in a really cool area of Durham, with many “hidden gems” of Durham within walking distance: Ideal’s Sandwiches and Deli; And_Also vintage clothing shop (You may know them from Thrift-a-Bull); Proximity Brewing, Design Bank, East Durham market, Sophia’s pizza, Dame’s chicken and waffles, Congress bar… all in the same block, so you can definitely plan a whole afternoon and evening there ❤️ The neighborhood is very nice; with friendly people greeting you sitting at the front porch (a very north Carolinian experience), wide sidewalks and large trees everywhere, and old historic houses. 5 stars is not enough!

So excited to have a wine bar and shop in East Durham! Phenomenal service, fantastic wines that are hard or impossible to find elsewhere in the area. Incredibly chill and welcoming vibe. Even if you're not well versed in wine, you're in great hands to be able to find the wine you're looking for.

This is a great find in the Triangle. It’s the only true Portuguese Wine Bar I have found in the area. There are very cute cultural touches that reminds me of Portugal from the artwork to the table clothes. The atmosphere is great. The wine selection is amazing, with reds and whites from various regions in Portugal. Feels truly authentic.

This place is an absolute gem - A beautiful and cozy wine spot with something different from your regular wine list. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed and the owners are clearly very passionate and knowledgeable about Portuguese wine. Perfect for a date night or a plays back evening with friends!
