I honestly judge an Asian restaurant on its hot and sour soup. I am delighted to discover that Peony Asian Bistro's hot and sour soup may be the best I've EVER had--and that is saying something! It was just the right level of sour and spicy, and the fresh mushrooms floating on top were absolutely delicious. In addition, the consistency of the broth was perfect. Far too many restaurants make it so that the soup is more like gelatin than liquid--ugh. The portion sizes for lunch were very generous, and while the beef and broccoli I ordered was not as flavorful as the soup, it was still pretty good. Finally, the staff were very welcoming and helpful. When I realized I had left my wallet at home, they offered Apple Pay and I was able to have a truly delicious lunch. I am a very happy customer and will definitely visit often!

We did take out tonight. The service is very fast and prompt. The staff is nice and pleasant. We got chicken wings and pork fried rice and egg rolls. The chicken is good and I appreciate that they are wingettes. The egg rolls were a good size! The rice fell short for me I’m not a fan of peas and carrots in my rice. But overall it’s pretty good food

The only thing warm in the restaurant is the food! The restaurant was extremely cold(no one wants to have to eat dinner in a coat), the waitress was not friendly, no music playing, nothing. It was the epitome of eat and leave! The waitress said the wings were marinated, but I guess not long enough. They did not have much flavor. Our entrees were ok, and we had to pay 1.50 extra for fried rice. It was cool, but probably wouldn’t return.

Peony had been the go-to spot for a while and the food is great for take out and normally on-point with their service. However, something is wrong with their system because the last few times as it seems to be “losing my online order” meaning I have to wait an extra 20 minutes. Nothing major would just recommend they upgrade their ordering service to minimize these minor, but recently consistent inconveniences. Would recommend calling to place order.

My favorite place to eat everything Asian lol. Its a pretty quiet place, love the ambience! The food is better here than like 95% of other places I've been to in the tricounty area (the others are more fine dining). The pricing is fair and the people are always very sweet.

We placed a catering order with Peony for a work meeting for 14 people. We did it through EZ Cater. We are so pleased! Everything was correct, the food was labeled, everyone really enjoyed their selections. Peony even accommodated the special requests that were written in for a couple of the orders. Our order was ready promptly and they automatically included the extra sauces, condiments, crunchy toppings, utensils (including chopsticks), and threw in a couple complimentary half gallons of sweet tea. The staff was so nice, they helped me get everything into my car.
We allowed our staff to choose between the Office Kitchen Lunch and the Office Sushi Lunch - the prices are seriously affordable for such good food and for the generous portion sizes. Our all-in price per person was under $15/pp (that's with food, taxes, tip). We will definitely order from here again and highly recommend it!

Peony Asian Bistro has excellent food! While visiting my Aunt we stopped by for lunch. The shrimp Pad Thai, oh my word the chef did his thing on that one!!! EXCELLENT!!! The sushi was so fresh I thought I could taste the sea! Lol 😂 If you’re ever in the Durham/Chapel Hill area you won’t regret stopping by! Bon Appetit!!

Genuinely love Peony. It became one of my favorite restaurants for sushi or Chinese food while living in the triangle. The staff is always so kind and friendly and I’ve never had a bad meal there. Moving out of state now and I’m going to miss it so much :(

I’ve only gotten take out from here, but it is my go to for sushi. I love how many veggies they put in their hibachi dishes. They also always pay attention to modifiers on to go orders which I realllllly appreciate!

of sauce, the pad thai is flavorful and has good toppings like bean sprouts lime etc. the price is so good for the amount you get. my go to asian spot in durham!

My daughter and I were in town for the day and chose Peony on a whim. So glad we did!! The crab Rangoon alone will make me come back. It actually had flavor and crab, not just cream cheese!! I got the Kung Poa chicken and it is some of the best I’ve ever had. Everything was well seasoned and flavorful. And Kalea, our waitress, was amazing. Very attentive and kind. Looking forward to going back and trying more dishes!

Peony is a solid neighborhood Chinese restaurant. While the main dishes are a little too Chinese American for my taste (that ubiquitous brown sauce), the items are fresh and well prepared. I go for the very good two for one nigari. So good. Nice dumplings and shrimp toast. Lunch specials a good deal. Large portions.
