I visited Paddywax with a group of friends for my birthday. It was a new experience for me and it was everything I thought it would be! I picked out my vessel and scent. I used a step by step directional guide with assistance from one of the wonderful employees to measure exact amounts of wax and scented oil, strategically place my chosen wicks in the vessel and create a beautiful candle. The best part is that I can refill my vessel with a different scent and wax color when I burn down the candle. Also, some vessels are FDA approved to be used to hold food and drinks once the candles are completely used. This was a fun filled group experience with pleasant and helpful employees and I plan to return frequently!

We had a blast making candles together. It was my first time and it was so quick and simple I can’t wait to do it again! The staff was amazing especially Cher!!! I encourage everyone to try it out!

My friends and I visited Paddywax on a Saturday and had the best experience! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and everything smelled absolutely amazing. Cher helped us during our visit and she was so kind, patient, and welcoming. She really made the experience even more enjoyable. We had such a fun time and will definitely be back. Highly recommend!!!

My son, Will, and I came to the Paddywax Candlebar on Thursday, June 4, 2026 on a reservation at 6 pm. We have never made candles before.
We were in NC for the week for a wedding, and I found this fun adventure we could do in Durham.
Julian was more than gracious and patient.
It was just Will and I for the appointment.
We came home with self crafted candles, an education, and a memory.

This was a very great experience for a team building, it was very fun making your own candle, and the steps are very easy and staff is wonderful. All of the vessels are very cute was very hard to pick one out. I will definitely do this again.
