I had a wonderful experience at Millennium Hotel Durham. From the moment I arrived, the service was exceptional and the entire staff made me feel right at home. The room was spotless, very comfortable, and beautifully maintained.
I want to congratulate the hotel for having such an amazing team, because their kindness, professionalism, and warmth truly make a difference. Every detail was perfect, and my stay exceeded all my expectations.
I would definitely come back and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable, clean place with outstanding service. Thank you for making my stay such a special experience! -
Extremely Disappointing Stay - Unacceptable Service and Billing Errors
I stayed at this property for three days last week, and it was, without question, the worst hotel experience I have ever had. The level of incompetence and rudeness displayed by the staff is completely unacceptable.
First, there was a total failure regarding basic amenities. I was never provided with a breakfast voucher at check-in. It was only on my final morning that I discovered I had been entitled to breakfast the entire time.
Second, the housekeeping situation was unprofessional and hostile. Housekeeping staff banged on my door, demanding I check out despite the fact that I had paid for a late check-out. This caused significant stress and disrupted my stay. Adding to the discomfort, I noticed other guests smoking in the stairwell, which was both a fire hazard and a major quality-of-life issue that went unaddressed.
The communication and internal coordination at this hotel are severely lacking. There was constant confusion surrounding my late check-out arrangements throughout my stay.
Finally, and most infuriatingly, the hotel has reported to Booking.com that I did not pay for my stay. I have already been charged $359 for this visit, and the transaction is clearly reflected on my bank account. I have attached proof of payment to this review as documentation of this billing error.
I am extremely dissatisfied with how this was handled. I expect an immediate correction of the status with Booking.com and a formal explanation regarding these failures. I would not recommend this property to anyone. -
The place was a good look. Very low key and serine. The rooms were spacious and the beds were very comfortable. there were several romantic tucked away spots in and around the property. Most of the staff was helpful, however there were a few that could use cust svcs lessons. The pools although we're clean, they didn't work. The hot tub was luke warm and the heated pool was cold as ice and they were both inside. The breakfast was not worth the money. Regular hotel heat up food. Lastly, why couldn't I take my bagel with me?

I debated not reviewing so I'd protect this hotels privacy but decided to share anyway. This older hotel has a lot of amenities that make it simple, functional, quiet, professional and worth it. Its tucked away in the woods between the hospital and the highway. Smiles and support from the friendly staff made me feel safe. Yummy hot breakfast in the garden. Clean, soft sheets. The AC in the room was a bit loud, but I managed. The hot tub was a little dirty from people not showering beforehand but I used it anyway and it was fine.

This is hands-down, the best economy hotel super close to Duke University! I only paid $124 for a Saturday night. My room was clean and the breakfast was amazing. The staff is super nice. Amal was very helpful at breakfast and told me that if I wanted to enjoy the same low rate during peak times like graduation, you have to book well in advance. Will definitely keep that in mind for my next trip!
