Wow. All aspects of this restaurant knock it out of the park. Walk in to a beautiful, inviting interior, check the menu to see amazingly affordable prices (for what you get) and unique variety of menu options. The hot elote dip appetizer was one of a kind, and their chips are special too, they seemed freshly made. Our server Jorge P was incredibly knowledgeable on the menu and expertly explained anything we had a question about. Both of his suggestions (Picenha dish and the Tinga Enchiladas) were incredible. Unique flavors, beautiful preparations, not sure what else to say. This place takes no shortcuts. If you’re wondering whether to stop by, the answer is ALWAYS. -
This is my second visit to Mez, and it wasn’t great. We felt not only rushed, but the restaurant was cold, which matched the temperature of our meals. They were warm at best.
We ordered a “fancy” margarita and received a water glass filled with ice…more ice than my actual water glass. The margarita was packed with ice. For $20, and being told it’s “fancy,” it’s not worth it. When we shared our thoughts with the manager, he was quick to provide an explanation of how it was measured properly, but no apologies for any misunderstanding or offering to make a new one in the moment. Instead, he came back to our table when our food was placed, and asked us in a passive aggressive tone if our food was satisfactory. At no point did anyone apologize or offer to make it right.
We were given to go containers within 5 minutes of receiving our meals. We will take the hint and not return. -
I love their queso flameado dip with chips. I always get their grilled avocado salad. Healthy, fresh, and yummy. It is a good quiet atmosphere to talk and the servers are always good and kind. -
The waiter suggested the tamales which I ordered. They were light and tasty. The chicken one was topped with a tomatillo salsa which was not too spicy. The brisket tamale was topped with a Colorado sauce and both were drizzled with crema. They were unwrapped sitting on a bed of citrusy green rice. The brisket was a little muted in the sauce, but overall, it was a good recommendation. -
Loved the margaritas and dinner! Will definitely return! The trio of salsas with the chips were a great appetizer and we also enjoyed the Mexican corn dip. The tamales, fish tacos and chicken salad were amazing. Great atmosphere, beautiful place!
