This is an awesome place. The atmosphere is wonderful and the music was great. All of our food and drinks were fantastic. Our waitress, Jackie, was excellent! She took excellent care of us. I will definitely ask for her again when I come back. If you are in Durham, definitely check this place out.

I have been here twice. Once to celebrate my birthday last year and again this year for a much bigger party. We had about 12 people. Everything went smoothly. Makayla and Liam did a wonderful job! I don't think I've had a large party go so smoothly. We never ran out if drinks and everything was on point! They also had another big party and still were prompt. Makayla and Liam made the experience very enjoyable! The food was also good. I didn't get an alcoholic drink this time. And I left before it was time to see a show. 😅

Had an incredible evening at La Buena Vida Durham! The live music created such a vibrant atmosphere, and the food was delicious. I enjoyed the empanadas and pork belly tacos. I also enjoyed ceviche that easily became my favorite. Everything exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for authentic Mexican food with a lively vibe.

Its not an easy review to write. The food was excellent. We ordered 2 meals from the lunch menu and shared one app. Plenty of food! We had a doggie bag with easily another meal for home. Our 1st margaritas were very good. Good flavor and lighter on the citrus mix. Also our server was helpful and friendly. So where did it go sideways? The 2nd order of margaritas were horrible. So much mixer, I had to add water numerous times to drink the drink. The margaritas we ordered were listed as 12.50 in the menu. When we received the bill, they were 14.50 per drink. To push almost to a 3 star review, the restaurant passes on a 3% credit card fee. This is a pet peeve of mine. Its part of the restaurant's operating cost. Too much is passed on to the consumer as it is. An additional fee should not be added to each bill. The drinks were 50% of our bill. Our bill was $60 / person and would have been $30 / person without the drinks.
