Had an incredible evening at La Buena Vida Durham! The live music created such a vibrant atmosphere, and the food was delicious. I enjoyed the empanadas and pork belly tacos. I also enjoyed ceviche that easily became my favorite. Everything exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for authentic Mexican food with a lively vibe.

Its not an easy review to write. The food was excellent. We ordered 2 meals from the lunch menu and shared one app. Plenty of food! We had a doggie bag with easily another meal for home. Our 1st margaritas were very good. Good flavor and lighter on the citrus mix. Also our server was helpful and friendly. So where did it go sideways? The 2nd order of margaritas were horrible. So much mixer, I had to add water numerous times to drink the drink. The margaritas we ordered were listed as 12.50 in the menu. When we received the bill, they were 14.50 per drink. To push almost to a 3 star review, the restaurant passes on a 3% credit card fee. This is a pet peeve of mine. Its part of the restaurant's operating cost. Too much is passed on to the consumer as it is. An additional fee should not be added to each bill. The drinks were 50% of our bill. Our bill was $60 / person and would have been $30 / person without the drinks.

Absolutely loved our meal here. Tried it tonight with my boyfriends family and honestly the best meal I've had since I moved to Durham a few months ago. Our server was super helpful and very nice and everyone else was so nice, too. I had the steak a la Mexicana and it was delicious. The strawberry margaritas were so good and everything was presented really beautifully. We will definitely be back.

We had a great time celebrating Chelsea's Birthday at La Buena Vida. It was such a fun place food was amazing. Our sever Louis Hernandez was so good made us feel like we were they only ones in the resterant. He paid attention to every detail to make it a great experience. We have recommended this resterant to all of our friends and will definitely be back. The birthday cake was so good and loved everyone coming to sing we had such a great time. Thank you so much.
