We camped here at the the Crosswinds Campground in our RV for a quick overnight. The sites were large and the bathrooms were clean and updated. It was well maintained and we felt safe. The water was turned off at the sites due to low winter temps, but we were warned well ahead of time. We chose this campground because it was a short drive from RDU, only 20 minutes. Can't say I would swim in the lake or spend a week of vacation here, but as a cheaper alternative to a hotel it was great.

Jordan Lake is one of our favorite camping spots! It's so beautiful and peaceful! The only thing that I can say about it is that I wish they could turn the water on during the winter when they have campers.

Peaceful walks in the woods! Beautiful lake for one that is so close to a major city. Great place for the dogs to walk you!

Great place to have fun! Lots to do and see. Took away one star because the park rangers aren't very friendly. It does cost $7 to get into the beach areas. Some are better than others. There are some nice hiking trails too.

GREAT STATE PARK! We were 3 sites of the beachfront area on the lake. New hook ups and large camp sites.

Great place to take the family for a fun day on the water. You can pull boats and jetskis up to the little beach area and stay out all day for just $7 per car. Had a very fun day with the family. No issues with rude people or anyone getting in your personal space. Nobody messed with our stuff on the beach either while we were out on the water. I will definitely be back in the future.

Great place to go with the family. It's convenient and very well kept. The sites and facilities are kept clean. Cleanest bathrooms I've ever seen camping! Can't wait to go back!

This place is really great! So peaceful and overall wonderful place to take the family and enjoy nature. The lake is beautiful and the sunset was breathtaking! Our camping site was neat and free from debris. They have big trash tins positioned at every other site so you don't have to walk far, and they keep them clean and tidy. No trash overflowing. Loved it!

Poplar Point campground is fantastic. This was our second time here. We have found that Loop E has some of the most scenic, enjoyable sites but they are walk up only so it is first come, first serve. Both times we have been here we spent Friday night at a different site, and then found people leaving Loop E on Saturday morning and were able to move into their site. E50 is a favorite with great water access and perfect launches for kayaks and paddle boards. The park also offers a military discount so for $20 a night (non-electric) this place is tough to beat!

We totally love camping at Jordan Lake. We were at Parker's Creek this time which was great, we haven't had a bad site at any of the campgrounds. We hiked on the red trail to the beach which was well marked and an easy hike. We put a canoe and kayak into the lake. We went fishing and caught a fish. We set up a carport to cook and dine under and had a group of friends join us for the day- totally relaxing trip. There is quite a bit of tree coverage for the campgrounds, so it does provide shelter from storms and sun.

These are very nice camping sites! We were in site 1 and it was beautiful with wooded camping areas, a large field and a small beach for swimming! Bathrooms and showers were just past the playground (👍) and the area was clean and well kept. Jordan Lake camping is a super fun way to enjoy nature without having to 'rough it' too much. It's a great getaway for a family or friends!

Great experience on the lake. Some choppy waves in the main body for the boat, otherwise, fun time. Channels, or fingers of the lake are best for boaters. Gets deepest about 49 feet.

Clean beach, with shade and restrooms close by. Easy parking. And of course the lake is beautiful and the water is easy to adjust to.

We love to go camping, fishing and even using the recreation center. We haven't had any luck on fishing. Last time we went camping our camp site flooded but it was still fun and we made memories that day trying to dig a canal so the water would drain and our tent wouldnt flood.

It seems like the quality of the park depends on where you camp. We stayed in poplar point twice, one with an RV, and once tent camping in the first-come-first-serve spots. The reserved spots were much nicer. Yes, I know there is a difference between an RV site and a tent site, but the bathrooms and shower areas were better away from the section we stayed in to rent camp (section E). So I would recommend going only if you reserve ahead. Also, your neighbors in the non-reservation area are a little more interesting, to say the least. One group was out in the water in front of the sites running their jet ski wide open at 715 in the morning.

Had a great time with my family here, clean Beach side decent facilities plenty of places to set up for food, and want to crowded. I got 5 people in for the nearly price of $7 per car, so it's definitely worth it for a cheap trip for the family!

We went camping in our travel trailer for the first time and it was a great experience! We brought our 2 shepherd dog and 2 year old. The place was very peaceful and relaxing. Everyone was friendly and nice. Already booked our next trip

Very nice, clean and family friendly park. Our neighbors are really close but I still find it relaxing and peaceful. Our camp site is right on the lake for easy access to the lake for fishing

Love walking around the trails and being able to swim at the beaches. We were able to bring our dog for a beautiful hike. Also our grandson had a great time fishing with his Grandpa! You won’t be disappointed - it is a wonderful lake with lots to do.

Really liked the campsites and the lake. The bathhouses need sprucing up and better sealing to keep the gigantic spiders out. I saw one off them walk out with a bottle of shampoo--I kid you not!

Very much enjoyed camping here with my son's. Campsites are nice enough and easy to get to, clearly marked. Bathouses we're better than expected. We camped right on the lake and the boys fished all day and night. Caught plenty of channel catfish. Will go again!

Fantastic place to spend a day in the sunshine! Lots of facilities to make it easy too - toilet blocks, grills, tables, and large parking areas. There's a detailed guide to the different swimming areas on my website if you'd like more info!

Great place to spend some time outside during the pandemic. The facilities are clean and there is plenty of free parking. The kids loved playing in the field and by the beach, lots of room to socially distance. More than enough picnic tables are available, as well as plenty of trash and recycling. We will definitely return during the warmer months.

I like to camp there and wait for the sunrise. If there are layers of clouds as an ornament, the sunrise photos are even more beautiful, especially at the beginning and end of December, at sunrise and sunset due to the rapid warm and cold climate, unfortunately, I was not here at the time, and the panoramic photos I took were not what I liked. To make a long story short, there are too many mosquitoes there.

Jordan lake state recreation is absolutely amazing. My only comment is that when you are supposed to have water at a camp sight you should have it. Also should be able to get ahold of someone to understand why you dont have any. Would like to stay there again for longer period of time but only if water available at site.

I grow up around the lake even before it was filled great place to explore as a child and today. The parks have been very well maintained and improved over the years. I have walked many a mile picking up arow heads back in the day.

This place is gorgeous. (Covid BS seems to be having a weird effect. Places in the middle of the woods closed, but let's ALL go to Walmart. 🤦‍♂️) My only complaint here would be the bathroom and shower facilities. They REALLY could use some work. Other than that, nothing that I'm not really enjoying.

Review for Polar Point @ Jordan Lake. * generous lot sizes both camper and tent sites * camper sites have both water and electricity hookups * $5 firewood generous bundles * great treeline and waterfront views Cons: * Aged facilities * Experienced extended power loss which led to non-functioning bath facilities (no water and lights) Overall: Great nearby getaway camping to get away

It would be nice to pick your campsite like some of the camping places in outerbanks. We tried to pitch our tents outside the gravel where there were some clear grounds, but the ranger stopped us. Even with our matts it was so uncomfortable sleeping on the gravel. We were the very first campsite so there was cars driving by and we could hear the lovely sound of the freeway. Other than that the bathrooms and lake were great!!!i would go back.

Love loop F at Poplar Point. Camp Host was super nice. Great weekend trip. Only complaint is the bathhouse had been renovated and it's very nice, just needs some daily TLC with bleach and new curtains please. Otherwise can't wait to come back!

Really gorgeous campground right near the lake. We had a wonderful time. However, my only complaints are that the only working water was at an RV site (the faucet by the bathrooms was broken) and the trash cans were not secured to prevent raccoons and birds from easily getting in. We heard quite a few raccoons rummaging through the trash cans near our tent all night.

Beautiful area, but not ideal for camping in the off-season. Only one site is currently open and signage poorly reflects closures. Firewood is reportedly sold by patrolling rangers, but don't count on their timely arrival for a hot meal. Regardless, Parkers Creek is well-maintained and despite being busy, quieted down substantially after dark.

We went camping at one of the group campsites. We were close to the lake, and there were restrooms close to where we were. The restroom had showers, toilets and sinks. The campsite had a ring for the fire pit, several grills and picnic tables. There were not specific places to put your tent like some campgrounds have, but the forest was cleared enough for our group to be able to put up all of our tents with plenty of room to spare. I can't wait to try the individual campsites.

Love camping here! Poplar point is more crowded but better for having visitors. Parkers creek is quieter. Very easy to get in/out. The public beaches are also fun for a day! Take my canoe out here all the time.

This was my first time at any type of Lake and I gotta say this place was extraordinary and was cool. We stayed at the Beaver Ridge Ln part of the lake and it was a pretty view with the camper and boat really close to water. Stayed 2 days and was a really fun time. We inter tubed and I flipped and it was a cool place. Went site seeing with the boat and it was very scenic and the lake was huge. All great things at this lake. I love it and I’ll certainly go back knowing where I live it’s less than 30 minutes!!!

Only saw just a tiny slice of this park during a reunion. Nice pavilion area equipped with a cooking grill, electricity, fireplace, and lakeside benches. Restrooms just a short walk away. Plenty of parking close to the site. Amenities for the kids and a public swimming beach. Only 4 stars due to the small bit seen.

We arrived during the week and it was very quiet. Nice lake and 'beach' area. Mid July and very very few insects visible. Friendly host in area A. Conveniently located water spigots for non electric sites. Not far from modern food and service stations.

Great water front campsites (tents) and nice spacious pads with power just behind them (have power hookup). Can’t beat the cost for a couple night rental. Swimming was good and the water is super warm (it was early August), great to lounge and just relax in, just don’t expect to take a dip and cool off 🤣

A nice relaxing area. Currently free to enter. The sign says no charge to enter until March 31st. Plenty of parking . Plenty of kids were there on a weekday. There are places to change clothes, grill, relax and have a good time. Alot of trees for shade and open area if you want to get some sun.

Good lake. It's pretty busy, and a little choppy, but the temperature is warm. Bring my family to the campgrounds every year before school starts. It's become an annual tradition. The family loves it.
