Really curious about West African cuisine so my partner picked it up to bring home. They must’ve been kind enough to help him because he called me asking which protein I wanted in the soup.
It’s absolutely delicious: the jollof rice has a sort of smoky flavor to it like it was cooked on a campfire, the Egusi was 💣
This was my first time having this kind of food so there were no expectations going into, just excitement 😅
Definitely going back to try more dishes!

Everyone was kind when I came in and attentive. I ordered the okro soup with croaker added and it came to about $23, a tad pricy but i realize it probably costs a lot to make with the imported ingredients. Anyway, the taste was a 10/10 so it was worth it. Can’t wait to try other menu items

Very good. Tried with my bestie & was sooo good for my first time trying fufu. I am Hard of hearing and when the lady asked if it was good I said No bc I thought She was asking if I wanted more lol 🤣. I didnt realize until my friend told me after. I am Pregnant and my baby enjoyed it too. 💗🤗 check them out!

I've only been during visits to Durham and the consistency is what I like. I don't think you can ever go wrong with a delicious mash up of Caribbean and African foods. AMAZING 🤏🏾
I was also able to get supplements there like vitters and elderberry.

Delicious food and professional staff. I got okra soup and egusi soup with extra meat, and a beef patty. They were absolutely wonderful, and I will be going back. There are just two considerations I'd recommend keeping in mind if you come. First, definitely get extra meat with your soup (as I did) if you want a good amount of protein, as the "default" is just one piece of meat, which can be a large percentage of bone depending on which type of meat you order (and luck of the draw). Second, expect a wait similar to a sit- down restaurant-- this isn't the place for fast food. But given how much time and energy these dishes take to cook at home, I'm happy to wait in one of comfortable booths rather than be the one in the kitchen. I'm looking forward to going again and bringing friends.

BEST SPOT IN DURHAM FOR JAMAICAN FOOD. I haven’t tried the African food yet but yesterday I got the jerk chicken and oxtails was 10/10 I have never find a spot that sticks to the original taste of Jamaican food in Durham this spot is the ONLY one it taste just like the food spots in New York too ! I recommend this place. Thank you guys will be back every week 🤣❤️

The food is decent, but they often don't have the items that are listed on the menu. I've tried to order eba numerous times and they did not have it available.It seems that certain dishes are only available on particular days. I would call before you drive there if you know what you want.
Simi provided excellent service she was very professional and asked me the very things I think that are important when ordering food. Made sure the amount of gravy was how much I was comfortable with on my rice - ensured I understood the price difference of the sodas. Was sure to show me the difference in bowl size and price for the soup. Very impressed - Great customer service gets my business!
