Carrabba’s Italian Grill at New Hope Commons in Durham had me walking in with pretty okay expectations — but the reality was more “meh” than wow. The food? Fine. Flavorful enough, but when you look at the price tag, it doesn’t quite land. I mean, there was that offer where you could take an entrée home for $10, which was one redeeming value move.
Service was a big letdown. Staff seemed disengaged, barely around when you needed anything. We sat there waiting, trying to catch someone’s eye, and it just didn’t feel like they were invested in the experience. The atmosphere didn’t help either — instead of being cozy or vibrant, it leaned toward dull, kind of flat.
Honestly, I left feeling worse than when I arrived. Dining out should lift your mood, give you something to look forward to — this did the opposite. Overpriced food, inattentive service, low-energy space — it all added up.
Maybe Carrabba’s is decent in other places, but this location? I won’t be back. -
We made an impromptu visit here after a busy day of errands. What a fantastic surprise to learn that they were offering $10 take home entrees with any dining experience. We were delighted. First, we enjoyed a tasty meal then we took home some treats at a more than reasonable price!

This location is a perfect place for a date night. It’s tucked away from the road and not too busy.
Highly recommend the “Chocolate Dream” dessert. -
Absolutely phenomenal dining experience. We came in to sample a few dishes for our upcoming wedding, and Juan and Krystal went above and beyond. They provided a variety of options and answered all of our many questions from dietary needs to ways to serve a large buffet. We can’t wait to have Carrabba’s at our wedding and come back to dine here as newlyweds!

Our first time here, and while we arrived just after 8 pm we didn’t expect such a light crowd and that is often an indicator of the type of service or reputation even of the establishment. Because we aren’t from the area but wanted a decent meal and near our hotel, we decided to try a chain restaurant we had experience with. Well, unfortunately this wasn’t a good idea. While our server was very nice and attentive, the food was subpar to include the salad having quite a few wilted pieces we had to remove to eat. My husband ordered the two porkchops that came out severely undercooked and over seasoned so we had to send it back (didn’t get a photo of it). My salmon dish started ok but near the end it was also very undercooked and while the alredo side I chose with was a bit tasty, it was obviously not fresh. My husbands recooked plate came out just as I was done eating.
