Diane started Bowerbird Flowers and Apothecary with a passion for flowers and floral arranging. Over nearly a decade, she has seen the business grow from a small Chapel Hill studio to a beautiful UHill shop and botanical bar filled with flowers and arrangements, locally-made and thoughtfully curated gifts, cards, and an apothecary featuring skincare, teas, candles and more. But Bowerbird is much more than a retail shop: their in-demand floral services keep them busy designing decor for weddings and events year-round and supporting local flower farms while they're at it.

Bowerbird was an absolute dream to work with for our recent wedding!! From the pre-wedding planning process to day-of, they were just incredible to work with - responsive, thoughtful, and kind - truly everything you could ask for and more!! They were somehow able to bring my vague ideas to life in the most spectacular way. I knew it would be beautiful, but I was absolutely blown away when I saw everything come together the day-of. I have had countless guests ask me who did the flowers because of how beautiful they were. They have an eye for designed that is unmatched and truly unique, and I am beyond grateful to have worked with them!!!!! Would recommend Bowerbird and Diane 1000x over and give them 1000/5 stars if it was possible!!

Bowerbird did the flowers for our wedding, and we couldn’t have been happier with the results. Fabulous and unconventional mother's day bouquet.
I bought my mom a mother's day bouquet from Bowerbird and she cannot stop raving about how gorgeous it is! I wanted something outside the very common "1-800-flowers" look and Bowerbird more than provided! They also were extremely prompt and helpful when I needed to make an update to the order.

Bowerbird brought so much beauty to our wedding weekend. They listened to our vision for the event and tailor-made the arrangements to fit it. The bridal bouquet was perfect with an array of flowers including the beautiful apricot peonies, foxglove, larkspur, voluptuous roses, poppies, viburnum, chinese lantern - ones you usually don’t have access to unless they come from your yard.
The table arrangements were the ideal complements to the other table decor. Just right and not too fussy or overdone.
We knew we were in good hands with Bowerbird! Highly recommend! If I lived closer than Charlotte, I’d come by more often!

We found Bowerbird Flowers and Apothecary while searching for a florist to create arrangements for my mother's memorial service. Their aesthetic is amazing, and their customer service, including happily accommodating my very specific color, scale, and flower species requests, is outstanding. I highly recommend working with Bowerbird for any and all floral needs. They also have a great shop full of wonderful gift and household items, many of which are locally made!

Diane was both incredibly kind and easy to work with in helping put together floral arrangements for a memorial service. She listened well and was very thoughtful in putting together the arrangements incorporating culturally appropriate colors along with my dad’s favorite flowers . The arrangements were beautiful and her lovely staff were prompt and courteous. Pricing was very reasonable.
