I visited Durham a few nights ago and stumbled on a cypher downtown. Long-story short. I stayed until the end and met the guy that coordinated the whole thing, P. I got a brief history on this amazing creative-space for children with an interest in the arts (music, film, painting, etc...). Blackspace gives children from all walks of life a safe and productive outlet. Support the youth. -
I co-hosted a free summer camp where young women learned about coding and blockchain technology. I was impressed and moved by Blackspace, their Founder Pierce Freelon, the Board members and every individual that contributes to the space. Kids deserve a space where they can express and evolve. The short films made by students who participate in their wokeshops blew me away. What a gift to Durham, NC, the world and our future this space is. -
