I rented a vehicle for Thanksgiving last week… it was dirty when I rented it, the guys says they can’t clean them on the lot … but you could wipe the snot off the steering wheel!! I took it to the car wash and spent extra money when I brought it back as we drove through snow and salt. Yes I had a dog in it but I vacuumed and used a roller … we found bay bell wrappers, Cheetos and SunChips in this car yet we were charged $50 for there being maybe some dog hair … but that I should be grateful it wasn’t $450 … they said it smelled … if it did it wasn’t dog it may have been onions from the burgers we brought home!! They don’t say no dogs they say no excessive dog hair … if I vacuumed and used a roller it wasn’t excessive! -
This place is horrible. First time I rented everything was good. We back a 2nd time and they said they had no vehicles but put in a reservation and they would get us one. We sat there for 2 hours for nothing. They just kept giving out vehicles to other people. They never apologized or anything. They just ignored us and acted like we weren't there. So we decided to give them a try again a couple of days again and we used our bank card and he said it was denied even though we had over $8000 on the card. So we tried our credit card, we have 2 that are identical but different numbers. Well the ones we tried was the wrong one. The guy was like no I'm not running another payment and said they can only do it 1 time a day. And basically told us to get lost. They were rude, dismissive and unprofessional. We rented from them just fine the first time. But they wanted to treat us horribly the 2 last times. We went to Enterprise rented a $500 vehicle just fine. There were no issues with my payment. But the guy at the other place absolutely would not let us try the right card. He said he gave us the benefit of the doubt for letting us use the second card after our bank card. I do not recommend going to this place. They treat you horribly and absolutely unprofessional. -
First, I'd like to say that I've rented at multiple Avis locations in several states, using my employer discount with no problem, but I have to say that this location is the first where I've ever been asked to see my work badge , or experienced such rudeness and unprofessionalism. I made a reservation one week in in advance, and upon going to this location to pick up my vehicle, it started off fine, until they asked me for my company ID in order to use the company discount code that allows for a discount. After advising the representative that I did not have my work ID or badge on me (I don't know many people that do, especially if they're not on their way to, or leaving work), he told me I'd have to pay the regular rate, and they would credit me the discounted rate upon returning the car an confirming my place of employment by bringing in a badge...I thought, ok, fair enough. I asked how much the regular rate would be, after he quoted me double the price, which would be without my employee discount, I declined, and asked him to cancel the reservation, at which point, the older guy, who was supposedly helping another customer next to me, decided to chime in and say "you had a reservation, now you don't" I'm thinking, what????. As I proceeded to walk out, I told him , that there was no need to be nasty, especially since he was not the person helping me. He then went on to accuse me of yelling at him when I made the comment. I said, "I didn't yell at you," the other customer's looked confused as well, then he went on to say, "well, you raised your voice." Okay so which lie is it? Did I yell, or raise my voice? I guess he didn't understand the human concept of voice inflection. I said, " of course the black woman is yelling" being sarcastic of course. If I have some to say, I'm going to say it, respectfully of course, and I will not be silenced. The younger one that was helping me went on to say, we're black, as of that made it ok. First of all, I'm not going to pretend that I know what part of Africa they are from, but they are definitely not African American, which are totally different experiences, and they are not black women, not to mention, these geniuses don't realize that they do not have to be a non-person of color to perpetuate those negative stereotypes about black women. These guys should be sending us flowers, thanking my African American ancestors that fought and died for the benefit that immigrants like him have, in order to come here and build a life, yet, they get comfortable, and try to disrespect those of us that are already productive members of this community. WIth that said, we all have a choice as to where we spend our hard earned dollars, and I implore everyone to think read reviews before they decide to patronize these businesses. I will also be reaching out to corporate, as they should not be able to represent Avis in such a negative manner, franchise owner or not. -
Great, Awesome service. Been coming for over 4 years and never had an issue. If there is an issue its with Budget/Avis themselves and not the location. Great people and cars always clean. Thanks you guys! -
I love renting from this location. Shabbir is very helpful, polite, and attentive when it comes to my vehicle interest. I will definitely continue renting from Avis in Durham.
