Such a hidden gem!
I’m visiting North Carolina with my son and we stopped by A Little Gelato around 7pm. It’s tucked away in the back of the building and so worth finding. The shop is cute, the gelato is absolutely delicious, and they also have pastries and baked goods.
The owner was incredibly kind—he served us himself, gave us free bread, and even shared advice about moving to North Carolina (he’s originally from New Jersey too!). Great gelato and even better hospitality. Highly recommend! -
The best ice cream in the entire triangle. New place. I don’t even like ice cream.
The only time I ever get ice cream is gelato in Europe. This was just as good or better. Very high quality, expensive ingredients that are imported.
Also, the best cheesecake! Very unique texture, flavor. So delicious. -
A Little Gelato is my go-to for every birthday and celebration. Ken is a delight and the cheesecake and carrot cake are our favourites 🤤 -
So glad we found this tucked away gem! Incredible gelato and a surprising variety of pastries. They also had cute gift shop items which I plan to buy closer to the holidays. Can't wait to come back!
Added pictures of the building - A Little Gelato is around the back, plenty of parking! -
I randomly found this place by searching “ice cream near me” and let me tell you, their gelato is hands down the best I’ve ever tasted!!! I loved the pistachio, as well as the coffee and the chocolate. I don’t even like mint chocolate chip but tried it because the other flavors were so good, and it was delicious as well.
The owner was very welcoming and offered me multiple desserts to try including his century-old cheesecake recipe (beautiful taste and texture), and tiramisu (he bakes his own ladyfingers and you can taste the difference).
I also sampled multiple olive oils and left with a bottle and some Italian bread. Before leaving he offered me a small coffee flavored pastry (since I liked the coffee gelato so much) and I was blown away by the full flavor, creamy texture of the custard, and the soft but crispy pasty. I don’t remember what that was called, but boy was it delicious!
I’m sure I asked about the prices of things on the menu, but this is the type of place where as far as I’m concerned, the price does not matter because I know I’m walking out with delicious food with high quality ingredients made by a meticulously talented hand and offering an outstanding customer service experience. This guy loves what he does and it shows.
There are so many overpriced, mediocre food experiences out there, and this is not that. If you’re out having a meal and thinking about getting an overpriced off menu dessert, don’t. Just don’t. Make this place your dessert destination. This is worth it. Don’t argue with me about it. Argue with your mother. I’ll be back.
