Such a great location!! It’s pretty far into the woods but that’s the best part! Plenty of privacy and no road noise. There is plenty of parking down paved roads, heat/A/C, bathrooms and staging areas for small or large events. The cabin itself is in great shape and the grounds are kept very well maintained.

I have been to three weddings here and I have to say that this place is a magical place to get married. It may not look like much at first glance but after they decorate and add that magical touch it will be a fantasy of a wedding. The serene quiteness of the surrounding woods and nature make it a one of a kind place to say I do. Hats off to the staff and all there hard work.

The venue was great! We had our wedding here with the ceremony outside and reception inside. The venue was intimate and fit our style perfectly. I give it a 5 stars but the only downside is I still haven't received my deposit back from venue! It states that the turn around is three weeks but it's going on six weeks and I still haven't received it! Ive called at least twice a week but I get the same story that I should receive my check the following week. I guess just stay on top of it. If not, they'll try to get over on you.

We were married at Spruce Pine Lodge, owned by the Durham Parks & Rec Dept. The venue was exactly what we wanted. We had been looking for an inexpensive venue that was air conditioned, where we could use our own catering/bring in our own food, and casual for our small wedding (40-50). Spruce Pine Lodge was so affordable and with the insane rain that we have had lately, it was perfect to have the option of having the ceremony and the reception all inside.
The venue was absolutely gorgeous and everyone loved it. The chairs and tables were all included... along with a full kitchen. There are bathrooms there and 2 large rooms that we used for changing. We also used one room for our photobooth.
We had plenty of space and were able to decorate the venue as we wanted. With all of the windows, we used natural light (instead of the ugly florescent lights) and white christmas lights. It was so beautiful and so perfect.
When the sun came out, we were able to take some beautiful pictures outside. It was so lush and green.
Spruce Pine Lodge was affordable, perfect for the changing weather... and just exactly what we wanted for our small, casual wedding.
