I would rate my stay a 3 out of 5. The overall experience was good, and it would have easily been a 4 if not for an issue with the airport shuttle.

To start with the positives, the room was very nice, clean, and comfortable. The hotel staff we interacted with were friendly, and overall the stay itself was pleasant.

However, the experience with the airport shuttle was very stressful and significantly impacted our departure. As visitors unfamiliar with the city and airport, we relied on the shuttle service to get us to the correct terminal. The hotel had collected our airline information in advance, so we assumed the driver would take us to the appropriate location.

Unfortunately, we were dropped off at the wrong terminal. We proceeded through security, only to realize our gate was not there. Airport staff then directed us to an entirely different terminal in a separate building. This resulted in us having to exit, transfer, and go through security a second time.

We ultimately made our flight with less than five minutes to spare after rushing across the airport, but the situation could have easily resulted in us missing it. When I contacted the hotel to explain what happened, I was told that it was not the driver’s responsibility. Given that we were unfamiliar with the airport and had provided our airline details, I believe clearer communication or guidance from the driver would have been appropriate.

While I’m grateful we made our flight, the situation was avoidable and added unnecessary stress. I’m sharing this feedback so future guests are aware and can double-check their terminal before exiting the shuttle.

Overall, a good stay with a comfortable room and kind staff, but the shuttle experience is something that should be improved

Stayed here with my husband and two kids. The staff was amazing. They all had great personalities and made sure we had everything that we needed.
Our room was spacious, but definitely needs some TLC. The bathroom had a musty smell and I noticed the ceiling was chipping and had mildew spots.
I will also say smells definitely travel in this hotel. Our room smelled like Marijuana for the majority of our night and we were not partaking in those activities.

The pool was huge and we loved it. There is a little walking path behind the hotel and that was one of our favorites. It was nice to walk around and see some fish, turtles, ducks and even a great blue heron. It is a very relaxing and quiet area.

Fantastic stay at DoubleTree Raleigh-Durham! The warm, fresh cookies at check-in were a great welcome. Our room was spacious, spotless, and had a charming retro design. The staff was incredibly attentive, accommodating, and very family-friendly. The location is convenient, and the pool and lake view was absolutely stunning such a beautiful, peaceful landscape. Highly recommend and would definitely stay here again!

Going on a family trip, I shouldn’t have to fix the toilet every time my family or I used the bathroom. It was frustrating and honestly disgusting.

We stayed from Friday through Sunday in Room #409. I reported the issue and even asked to be accommodated, but I was told all the rooms were sold out. I understood that and wasn’t upset about the lack of availability.

What I do find unacceptable is that it’s now been three days since our stay, and the general manager still hasn’t called or reached out to address my concerns. A follow-up would have shown that the hotel values its guests and takes maintenance issues seriously.

The lack of communication and customer service after reporting the issue was very disappointing and unprofessional. I hope they improve how they handle situations like this in the future.

The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Our main problem was with the gym. There was very limited weights (it jumped from 5 to 10 pounds and then 20 pounds) and some of them were old. There was no pull down bar. The gym needs some updating and some more equipment! Most of the Hilton hotels we go to have complete gyms with modern equipment.
