The 10th Annual Liberty Arts Iron Pour

Every November since 2016, Liberty Arts has hosted a FREE public arts event in Durham Central Park. All evening and into the night, thousands of pounds of molten iron will be poured into molds in an exciting fiery display, creating iron tiles designed by the public and sculptures made by NC artists. The event will also feature performances, local food trucks, craft beer, art vendors, and opportunities to learn from and engage with this spectacular art form. The Iron Pour has become a major cultural anchor in Durham, bringing together thousands of people to celebrate fire, metal, and creative expression in a dynamic, interactive setting.

This year, on the events' TENTH ANNIVERSARY, Liberty Arts is celebrating 10 years of Pouring with Purpose, sparking creativity and continuing collaboration between artists and community.

Engage with metal casting like you've never seen it before, and experience a wide array of art making. Heat and fire come to life through glassblowing, flame working, blacksmithing and more. Participate in unique workshops, forge bonds with community partners, and be dazzled by performing artists.

As they celebrate their 10th anniversary, remember that the Iron Pour is also Liberty Arts' largest fundraiser! Your Iron Pour contribution helps sustain programming like IRON HEROES, and collaborations with local non profits and educational institutions. Liberty Arts is committed to providing accessible opportunities for unique art making through ongoing programming.
