Introduction to Needlepoint Workshop @ Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club Vista Restaurant
Discover the art of needlepoint with Needlepoint.com at the Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club. This beginner-friendly, hands-on workshop introduces the fundamentals of a timeless craft, giving you the skills and confidence to start a creative hobby of your own.
During the “Beginner Needlepoint Workshop,” you will learn how to start and end threads, discover the benefits of using stretcher bars, and practice two foundational stitches: basketweave and continental. Leading the class is Margaret (Meg) Ergenziner, a local high school teacher who brings more than 30 years of stitching experience to the art of needlepoint. With expertise spanning beginner stitches, beading and ribbon work, Meg has taught dozens of classes and is passionate about helping others develop their skills. She will be joined by Ava, Needlepoint.com’s Raleigh store manager, and Anna, head of fulfillment, who will assist participants throughout the workshop.
A practice canvas and threads will be provided, giving you the materials you need to build your skills in a welcoming, hands-on setting. The class takes place in the Inn’s Vista Restaurant, where floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Duke Forest provide an inviting backdrop for an evening of creativity. No prior needlepoint experience is needed. Just bring your curiosity and get ready to learn a new skill!
Throughout the class, guests can also order food and beverages from the Inn’s award-winning Fairview Dining Room menu to enjoy during the experience. View the full menus at https://www.washingtondukeinn.com/durham-fine-dining/fairview-dining-room.
