Solid coffee shop w lots of space, good music and great coffee. Polite fast service. In the morning they have some simple counter service but there is a cafe next door for more food. -
I went in with my service dog. The barista did not seem to be aware of any legal protections surrounding service dogs. I checked in with her, asked her if she knew the two legal questions. She didn't, so I told her what she could legally ask service dog handlers, and what appropriate answers would be. She said she wanted to accommodate me, and they had outdoor seating. I told her again he is a service dog. She said she knew, but without much tact checked in with her manager. If you don't know the law, at least be kind and don't suggest I sit outside in 45 degree weather. Her manager said it was fine for me to stay inside, but at that point I decided I could spend my money elsewhere.
Staff should be educated on disability laws, and if they aren't educated, at least have customer service skills that don't belittle patrons. -
I’ve been to Yonder a few times now, and it’s quickly become one of my favorite spots in Durham. The space has a really welcoming vibe, and the staff are always kind, friendly, and genuinely accommodating. I especially love some of their teas, a few of them remind me of how I used to have them back home in India, which makes every visit feel a little extra special. It’s a place where I’ve always felt comfortable, included, and well taken care of. Highly recommend! 🙌 -
Yonder is my daily spot for coffee, tea, Matcha, and lunch…. I give Yonder Five stars, only because Google will not let me give them 10!
If you like high-quality Sustainably roasted coffees from all over the world, as well as the best selection of tea in the triangle. Then this is your spot!
The best part about yonder is the staff… The best around.
They also have tiny limes. …. And ice cream.
The only critical feedback I can offer is that sometimes they run out of apple jacks and Froot Loops Before the other cereals. But, worst things could happen, I guess. -
Yonder has an incredible selection and variety of coffee drinks, retail, pastries, food and other beverages like matcha, tea and bottled goods.
I started off with a flight of three filtered coffee options that have been carefully selected to encompass “the range” coffee has. I really enjoyed reading both Yonder’s thoughts on the coffee as well as information about the roaster, farmer and process of the coffees that was provided with my flight.
The first flight offering was a washed Colombian (the “daily” - this is a consistent offering of theirs by Parlor Coffee, New York) The second signified a “fruity and bright” option and Yonder was showcasing Hex Coffee Roasters. The third was an international coffee by Ditta Artigianale, a coffee roaster from Florence, Italy. These coffee roasters are all exceptional and I felt very lucky to be able to taste them. They were all brewed well and with care.
Later, my husband and I got two of their winter seasonal offerings: an iced tiramisu coffee and a cinnamon date cappuccino. They equally were crafted well and the flavor had so much depth!
There is plenty of seating inside the shop and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable.
Whether you’re local to Durham or from around the triangle and looking for a shop to try out, you can’t pass up on Yonder!
