The food was delicious! Everything was seasoned perfectly and the food was good and hot when it came out. I got the Fried Chicken Wing Dinner with Green Beans, Potato Salad, and Corn Bread as my sides with an iced tea which was really good and sweet as well. The workers were very friendly and patient. I enjoyed my experience here and give everything a 10/10!

The food was absolutely amazing—real, authentic soul food. My sister insisted we try this restaurant while visiting from Michigan, and she was absolutely right!

I had the pleasure of meeting Dariela who was the cashier today. She politely greeted us to let us know that she was taking a call in order and would be right with us. As she took our order, she was very patient as I had a family order and she made sure to review the order to make sure it was correct. The atmosphere was nice, I can tell that there are regulars who frequent there which told me ahead of time that the food was good and they have lovely artwork to admire. I will be back again!

I’m staying in Durham for the week and decided to try this place. I did not regret it! The wing dinner was great! I ordered the collard greens and mac&cheese for my sides. I could’ve used a bit more salt on the chicken but everything was seasoned perfectly to accommodate all palettes. I would definitely recommend.

Amazing food, amazing atmosphere and my food was fixed in minutes after ordering. Be sure to grab the collards/canbage mix and the cornbread! Will be coming back weekly for this soul food.

So I went looking for some soul food today. I pulled at the place that I usually go to but decided against it because the food is not the best. I sat in my car and googled soul food places and came across Mrs V’s kitchen. I looked at the menu and without reading the reviews, I headed over there. Got there, a little skeptical but ordered the bake chicken, mac and cheese, mixed cabbage and collard and a slice of the apple bread. When I tell you this was some of the best soul food that I have spent my money on, I am not lying. The food was GOOD! And the cornbread that came with the meal, outstanding. I’ve tried Soul Forking Good food truck and Let’s Eat Soul Food and so far Mrs V’s Kitchen is the better choice.

My parents and I stopped by this establishment yesterday April 18, 2025 while on a mini vacay in the Raleigh-Durham area and were impressed! We ordered the chicken wing dinner, which was seasoned to perfection! The macaroni and cheese was fresh and the collards were amazing! Not to mention customer service was top tier! Thank you guys for an amazing meal!

I've been here 2xs. Staff is always nice and helpful and friendly. The cornbread is very good, fish is flavored light but we'll and the cabbage/collard mix is tasty too. The pinto beans were not flavorful like the last time but looking forward to them being tasty again on a future visit! Forgot to take photos BEFORE we started eating and lighting is bad on the pork chop it wasn't burned or too dark

After reading so many rave review we decided to visit when we visited N.C.from over twelve hours away. The cashier a short woman with a ponytail was friendly, efficient and courteous. The food came quickly we didn’t wait long. A male (tattoo and hat)brought the food he was nice and approachable. One issue was 3.25 for a 20 oz bottle soda was excessive and the flies were annoying and gross in the dinning room we couldn’t enjoy our meal so we packed up and enjoyed ourselves on our 12 hour ride home.

Overall the food is good when I do go. I stopped going to this place because they never seem to have the food that I would like to order when I go there. They’re always “out” of something. Of course I do not have a restaurant business but I never understood how a restaurant whose menu never changes does not have the food that’s on their menu. Waste of my time & gas trying to support. If you are like me and are looking for consistency when supporting, SoulForking Good is right down the street. Wonderful business. Swift service as well.

Ordered oxtail, ribs and chicken. All taste amazing! Real food should I say. Potato.salad, mac n cheese, and the corn bread while just "sides" taste so good and full of flavor. Restroom is also very clean. the cashier and the person who brought out and packed my food are both very nice and accomodating with all my questions.

My husband and I really enjoyed the food. The gal who took our order was awesome. I was curious about the Oxtails over rice and she gave me a sample to taste…it was very good. My favorite is the baked Chicken drumsticks which as cooked perfectly and tasted good. I really enjoyed the sides which were the Cabbage, Collard Green, Mac & Cheese and Cornbread. If you are too tired to cook, do Takeout! Very friendly staff 👏

I'm giving 3 stars because the establishment was very clean. The food, well, let's talk. I got mac and cheese, cabbage/collards mix, and oxtails. The mac and cheese is salty (FYI, I love salt, so if I say it's salty OH BAEBAE it's salty). The cabbage/collards mix are just hot, no seasoning and I had a thin bone in mine. I think it was from the turkey that it was seasoned with, again which it lacked seasoning. I got 3 oxtails which you can see from the pic provided and 2 small bones. I spent $23 and change for this and ended up going to Burger King for a chicken Jr on my way home because the plate didn't do it. The only thing that will be eaten is the oxtails and my 14 year old son will eat that only if he can add a bunch of hot sauce, according to him. To badmoodpixie, that gave the "wonderful" review that convinced me to come to V's, glad you had that experience but mine was far from yours!!! THANKS BUT NO THANKS!
