This was my first time eating here. The cashier was nice but she was the only one up front taking ordered so we stood in line about 15 minutes waiting to place our ordered. I ordered the pork chops, yams and collards. The food was good. I would go back. I just think someone should have helped take the orders. I forgot to take a picture of my food but I got the sweet potato pie and it was very delicious. I took a picture of it.

Normally I don’t leave good reviews but I had to for this place while I’m at work. I love a good home cooking spot but they are always hard to find. I’ve been to the Soul forking Good right up the street but this place is wayyyyy better. I had the fried chicken wings, white rice with gravy and collard greens. Not a lot ppl can make good collard greens but this place them greens were fire!!! Definitely will be coming back. I was told the owner was there cooking food today. Hopefully the food is good like this every time.

A friend has been telling me what I've been missing by not coming to Vittles, so today I decided that enough was enough and I would go by.
I walked in and was a bit nervous because the young lady working the counter went in the back and was gone for a few minutes. The delay however gave me a great chance to view the menu.
I decided to go with the Jerk Salmon over Peas and Rice, with Mac and Cheese, Fried Okra, and Butterbeans with corn...
The only thing I can say is.... I'll be back! -
Vittles In The Park in Durham is the kind of place that gets it right from the moment you walk in. The young lady who greeted my wife and me was warm, welcoming, and set a great tone for the whole visit.
Big shoutout to Allen—his customer service is top-tier. He went above and beyond, made sure everything was perfect, and did it all with a genuinely pleasant demeanor that made the experience even better. Thanks to Allen also for complimentary Lemonade which was excellent.
The food was excellent—full of flavor and clearly made with care. Great people, great vibes, and great food. We’ll definitely be back. -
Ordered here this past weekend after attempting two other places that were “sold out” of items we were interested in. It was a big mistake coming here as an alternative. We ordered two plates with two sides each. I ordered the 2 fried porkchops with yams and macaroni, my friend ordered the fried fish with cabbage and macaroni. The porkchop was the driest porkchop I’ve ever eaten with little to no flavor. I was shocked by the “great” reviews after eating here. Not to mention, the macaroni and cheese was flavorless. I had to add some salt and pepper from the plasticware packaging. My friend was not a fan of their food either. I will not be returning.
