Our son was having Open Heart Surgery at Duke and the University Inn was a great plus for me, an 85 year old woman traveling alone. I have stayed in quite few nice hotels but this one was definitely the cleanest one ever, the personnel were helpful and the shuttle service was terrific. Location was perfect (although I admit to getting a bit lost walking to the hospital a time or 2). There were assorted snacks and microwaveable choices in the lobby as well as delicious muffins and free coffee and tea.This would also be an ideal choice for a home away from home for a longer visit medical visit.

This is not a fancy hotel but it is clean and cozy. The entire staff are absolutely wonderful! They treat you with respect and are so caring. The shuttle is a convenient way to get back and forth to the hospital and anywhere you need to go. The drivers are wonderful and make you feel safe.

I stayed here for work, so it didn't matter to me that it was not right near much. It was walkable to 9th street and technically to the bullpen area, too. It was clean, quiet, with nice staff. Better than I expected.

Rooms are very spacious with a pull out couch recliner and 2 double beds. Also had a table with 2 chairs. We always get the handicap room so the bathroom is really big

The rooms on the 3rd floor are very clean. The location is perfect to go to medical appointments and Rorie, Cherishe, and LaToya were very nice and helpful!! Great place to stay. Only down side at all is no breakfast.
